Dragon Pony has been named Billboard’s K-pop Rookie of the Month for May.
In a feature published on May 15 (local time), Billboard spotlighted the group as one of the most promising new acts in Korea’s rock scene.
“Dragon Pony is a four-member Korean rock band bringing fresh energy and musical depth to the scene,” Billboard wrote. “Each member actively contributes to songwriting and production, creating music rooted in honest storytelling and rock’s dynamic edge.” The outlet described them as “a force redefining what modern Korean rock can be.”
Billboard also praised their rapid growth, noting their appearance at the Busan International Rock Festival, a nationwide club tour, and a sold-out solo concert in Taipei.
In an interview with Billboard, the band shared their excitement: “We’re incredibly honored and grateful to be chosen as Billboard’s K-pop Rookie of the Month. We’ll keep pushing ourselves to reach the Billboard charts and grow even more.”
They added, “We want to go on a world tour and meet more fans. It’s our dream to perform as headliners at major festivals like Glastonbury and Coachella, and even the Super Bowl halftime show someday.”

Dragon Pony will return to Taipei for 'Dragon Pony 1st Concert ‘Not Out’ in Taipei' on May 23–24, followed by performances at major Korean music festivals including 'Beautiful Mint Life 2025' on June 14 and the '2025 Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival' on August 1, further establishing their presence as one of the most exciting new bands in Korea’s live music scene.
