NewJeans has expressed their condolences for the victims of the Jeju Air crash.

On December 30th, the members posted a message on their self-managed jeanzforfree account, stating, "In sincere condolences 애도의 마음을 담아," along with a photo.

The image shows the members wearing black ribbons on the collars of their white stage outfits, symbolizing their tribute to the victims.

NewJeans is scheduled to perform at Japan’s 66th Shining! Japan Record Awards on December 30th, followed by Countdown Japan 24/25, the country’s largest indoor year-end festival, on December 31st. While canceling their appearances is difficult due to pre-arranged overseas schedules, the group plans to wear black ribbons on stage as a sign of respect and mourning.

On the morning of December 29th, at 9:03 AM, Jeju Air flight 7C2216, traveling from Bangkok to Muan International Airport, crashed during landing. Out of 181 passengers, 179 were killed, leaving only two survivors.
