Top actress 'A' has been sued for alleged unpaid loans.
According to reports on July 25 KST, 'B', a businessman in his 50s, filed a lawsuit against 'A' at the Seoul Southern District Court on June 12 KST. 'B' is claiming 'A' owes him 314 million won ($227,014.87 USD) in unpaid loans and damages.
Through the lawsuit, 'B' stated, "Shortly after getting to know 'A' around December 2016, 'A' asked to borrow money, claiming financial difficulties, and I lent over 220 million won ($159,055.01 USD) until October 2018." He further claimed, "Later, citing more difficulties, 'A' requested reduction in debt, and around December 2018, I received a promissory note for about 150 million won ($108,446.60 USD)... To this day, she has not repaid the loan."
Actress 'A' previously accused 'B' of sexual assault three times between 2017 and 2019, but the police concluded there was no evidence. Subsequently, 'B' counter-sued 'A' for false accusations, but the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office dismissed the case. 'B' has since filed an objection, and the case is ongoing at the Seoul High Court.
In his lawsuit against actress 'A,' 'B' claimed damages of 150 million won ($108,446.60 USD), stating, "Due to 'A's false accusations, I have endured unbearable pain for over four years, and this suffering continues."
Legal battles between the two have been ongoing since 2020 when 'B' sued 'A' for spreading false information that he had sexually assaulted her, and 'A' sued 'B' for repeated threats and violations of the Information and Communications Network Act.
Although they initially settled through reconciliation, their conflicts reignited, leading to renewed legal disputes.
Actress 'A' is reported to have debuted in the early 1990s through weekend dramas and gained significant popularity. Since then, she has intermittently continued her broadcast activities while focusing on her current business endeavors.
