SM Entertainment released a statement regarding the latest rumors surrounding NCT's Johnny and Haechan.

On June 4, SM Entertainment denied the rumors that the two NCT members had slept with fans in Japan and warned they would take strong legal action against the spread of ungrounded rumors.

SM Entertainment stated, "Currently, there are unspeakably provocative rumors such as NCT's Johnny and Haechan being involved with prostitution and drugs that are spreading indiscriminately online. We have confirmed that these rumors are untrue and that this criminal act seriously damages the artist's reputation."

The agency continued, "Additionally, there have been untrue rumors and malicious slander continually created against NCT members and other SM artists, including Heechul."

SM Entertainment explained it would be taking strict legal action against the spread of these ungrounded rumors and stated, "We have already collected sufficient data on several posts related to the content in question, and we plan not to sit idly by and ensure that the relevant actors are legally punished without leniency or agreement, regardless of nationality."

SM Entertainment's full statement below:

Let's hope that this time, SM will do more than a statement and will sue the rumor makers

people who worked at sm said not long ago that whenever they put out those statements, they never really do anything to protect their artists, so i honestly don't expect anything to actually happen. it's so upsetting that a company as big as sm doesn't give a fuck when people try to throw their idols into shit like this
