A representative of SM Entertainment has issued a statement in light of recent media reports, which revealed that aespa member Winter had undergone surgery for pneumothorax.
According to the SM rep on April 12 KST, “It’s true that Winter is recovering after undergoing surgery. Because the condition is considered one that reoccurs easily, the surgery was advised by medical experts as a preemptive measure, and the decision to undergo surgery was reached after adequate deliberation.”
The rep then added on, “All future schedules will proceed with Winter’s recovery and condition being given priority consideration.”
Earlier, it was reported that Winter had received surgery for pneumothorax at a university hospital on April 11. Meanwhile, aespa’s upcoming schedules include the group’s comeback, scheduled for May, followed by their 2nd world tour 'SYNK : Parallel Line' kicking off in Seoul from June 29-30.
