On March 8 KST, Show Play Entertainment, representing teen trot singer Jung Dong Won, released a press statement in response to earlier reports that Jung Dong Won's father was currently in prison and involved in an exclusive contract lawsuit.

Show Play Entertainment stated on this day,

"We would like to state our position regarding the earlier reports surrounding Jung Dong Won's father.

Jung Dong Won had no idea about any of the reports and allegations, and he is currently in a state of emotional instability. 

While this incident is a matter of the artist's family life, it is at the same time a very private matter only pertaining to Jung Dong Won's father, with no way for Show Play Entertainment to verify the facts. Please understand that this is the extent to which we can deliver a position on the issue. 

Furthermore, we sincerely ask that reporters refrain from publishing speculative articles which may hurt Jung Dong Won, as he is still an underaged minor."

Earlier, one media outlet reported that Jung Dong Won's father was currently involved in an exclusive contract lawsuit with another trot singer, 'A'. In an attempt to resolve matters, 'A' attempted to contact Jung Dong Won's father through a legal representative, only to find out that he was allegedly "in prison". 

Meanwhile, Jung Dong Won rose to stardom at the age of 13 after finishing 5th place on the popular trot competition program, 'Mister Trot' season 1.
