Producer Yoon Sang's son said to be a member of SM Entertainment's new boy group

AKP STAFF

According to various media outlet reports on July 18 KST, musician/producer Yoon Sang's son will debut in SM Entertainment's new 7-member rookie boy group.

Previously, Yoon Sang (Lee Yoon Sang) introduced his family to the public in 2018 on the SBS program, 'Single Wife 2'. It was revealed that Yoon Sang's wife, actress Shim Hye Jin, was residing overseas in New Jersey, the United States, with their two sons, while Yoon Sang supported them with his career as a music producer in Korea.

Born in 2003, Yoon Sang's oldest son Lee Chan Young garnered attention upon the airing of 'Single Wife 2' for his "flower boy" visuals, even at a young age. Some netizens even labeled him as a contender for "the most handsome celebrity son". Then, in 2020, Yoon Sang commented on the MBC program 'South Korean Foreigners', "My son is no longer swimming and now wants to go into music, like me. He's not bad at writing songs, well for a high schooler."

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment's upcoming rookie boy group recently arrived at Incheon International Airport after successfully wrapping up the filming of two MVs in Los Angeles, California, ahead of their projected debut in September. The group is made up of former NCT members Sungchan and Shotaro, S.M.ROOKIES members Eunseok and Seunghan, and three hidden trainees - one of whom, according to insiders, is Lee Chan Young.

In response to inquiries about Lee Chan Young being in the lineup for the new boy group, a representative of SM Entertainment responded, "We will reveal more details on the new boy group on August 1. Please look forward to it."

People really shocked over nepotism now? If new idols groups from the big companies aren't industry nepo babies, they'll be nepo babies from a well off family. How many new idols from these big companies do we still hear stories like TVXQ and suju where they grew up in poverty and slept in train stations? Just think about it, even if there wasnt any shady dealings and it were ALL about debuting those with best talent and looks, children from a rich/ induatry family WILL be more "talented" and debut-ready because they have the means to be trained and groomed (in a appearance sense, not the shady sense) from a young age, and these companies have their pick out of the cream of the crop, they're not going to be giving out debut spots for charity.

This one checks the visuals box already though, and if he really can produce his own music then maybe SM can finally say they have a self produced group lol.
