All this started when Stray Kids member Bang Chan shared his thoughts on his weekly show 'Chan's Room' and expressed that some individuals in the new generation of idols do not greet others well. The Stray Kids leader did not name anyone and was simply expressing his opinion. However, this led some fans of the Stray Kids fandom to do some digging and speculated that he was speaking of IVE. This was deduced from videos of the 'Music Bank' event in Paris and from Bang Chan's statement that the individuals who did not receive his greeting were someone he had no connection with.

After the speculation propagated among Bang Chan's fans, they began indiscriminately attacking IVE for ignoring Bang Chan's greetings at the Music Bank in Paris event.

Amid the backlash against IVE, fans of the girl group have united across various social media platforms to defend them. Supporters of IVE clarified that the group wasn't intentionally ignoring Stray Kids during the Music Bank event, as they were preoccupied with interacting with their fans and inadvertently missed the greetings from Stray Kids' members.
