BTS' Jungkook donates 1 billion won to Seoul National University Children's Hospital

BTS member Jungkook donated 1 billion won to children suffering from illness.

On April 18 KST, Seoul National University Hospital shared, "Jungkook has donated 1 billion won to Seoul National University Children's Hospital."

According to Seoul National University Hospital, Jungkook delivered 1 billion won (760,000 USD) to Seoul National University Children's Hospital to use for the benefit of sick children and their families. The donation is planned to be used for the treatment of children from low-income families and for the integrated care center project.

Through the hospital, Jungkook said, “I hope that it will be of some help to children who are suffering, and I will support them so that they can smile healthily.”

Jungkook debuted in the music industry in June 2013 as a member of BTS. Together with the members, they have been steadily carrying out group donations.

In January 2017, BTS donated 100 million won to the 416 Family Council, which consists of the bereaved families of the Sewol ferry disaster. At the time, each of the 7 members contributed 10 million won, and Big Hit Music added 30 million won, contributing a total of 100 million won. Since 2017, a total of 5.9 billion won (as of October 2022) has been donated through #ENDviolence, a campaign to eradicate violence against children and youth, which was carried out in cooperation with the Korean Committee for UNICEF.

A group donation was also made during the pandemic. In 2020, along with their agency Big Hit Music, BTS members donated 1 million dollars (approximately 1.2 billion won) to organizations related to the anti-racism campaign "BLACK LIVE MATTER" (Black Lives Matter). As a result, numerous fans expressed their will to join the campaign with one mind and one heart with BTS, raising more than 1 million dollars and becoming an example.

In addition, BTS donated 1 million dollars (approximately 1.2 billion Korean won) to Live Nation, a global performance agency, asking for support for performers who are experiencing economic difficulties in the aftermath of the pandemic along with their agency.

Meanwhile, Jungkook is about to make his official solo debut.
