On October 23, it was announced that Jin would be the next guest on the show "Running Man." It is a part of his 'The Astronaut' single promotion (co-written with Coldplay) that is going to be released on October 28. The teaser of it is already on SBS Youtube channel. It is based on the differences in the lives of Ji Seokjin and Kim Seokjin, who share the same name. By the way, this name means 'a golden treasure'! The episode is going to be aired on 30th October.

The episode is highly anticipated in South Korea, as the news about it trended on Naver and Daum. Additionally, numerous posts were being made on TheQoo. Of course, it was also trending on Twitter. SBS is one of the largest broadcasting channels in South Korea; in the TV report about Jin's attendance of the 'Running Man,' they said that it's a pride of SBS! 

'Running Man' is one of the most popular Korean shows. One of the hosts, Ji Seokjin, has been Jin's great friend since 2016. Sometimes they even text each other, as shared by Ji Seokjin himself. One of Jin's nicknames is 'Personality Genius,' which perfectly summarizes the effect he has on the people he meets. They immediately adore Jin, because (as the actor Jung Woosung described) he is a very interesting, witty, and funny talker while being a lovely and kind person. That is the reason he has so many friends among the industry's seniors. Ji Seokjin also mentioned in one of his Youtube videos that Jin's personality is just amazing.

Not everyone knows that it's actually not the first time Jin was invited to participate in the 'Running Man'! SBS even titled the announcement article as 'BTS Jin kept his promise from 4 years ago!"

A few years ago, the hosts of the show, Ji Seokjin and Song Jihyo, called Jin's phone right in the middle of the episode! Jihyo turned into fangirl mode once hearing that it was really Jin's voice. The artist was talking very politely and said 'Hello!' to the viewers. In another episode, Ji Seokjin was telling everyone about his friendship with Jin. That's when he mentioned calling and inviting him to the show, but BigHit said he couldn't accept the offer.

Sometime later, Ji Seokjin called Jin right in the middle of the show again. Jin immediately picked up his phone. Everyone was surprised to find out that he was in the Netherlands, and it was actually late at night there! People in the studio were impressed by Jin's respectful nature. Ji Seokjin invited Jin again, but he wasn't able to accept it because of BTS's activities.

Ji Seokjin has his own Youtube channel, and you can see him mentioning Jin in some videos as well. It was he who told Jin about BTS attending the show 'You Quiz' soon! 'If it's possible, I hope we can meet on TV again!' - he said. Ji Seokjin revealed that Jin likes going to variety shows a lot. However, because the decision was made by his company, Jin could not attend any. When he participated in multiple variety shows in 2017-2018, it was a huge success because Jin is naturally charismatic, entertaining, and funny. A few days ago, the episode of a popular Youtube show, 'No Prepare,' guesting Jin, was uploaded to Lee Youngji's channel. In just 5 days, the episode surpassed 12 million views, and the channel crossed 2 million subscribers!
