Students opposing iKON's attendance at Myongji University festival due to YG controversy

Myongji University students do not want a YG Entertainment artist at their campus festival.

The YG boy group, iKON, is one of the artists invited to perform at the '2019 Myongji University Festival.' Many filed complaints to the student government, stating it's not right to be inviting iKON, an artist from a controversial agency that has been undergoing recent police investigations. Students claimed inviting iKON might be shown as indirect support for the crimes their agency has allegedly committed.

Students said, "They're involved with Burning Sun," "Yang Hyun Suk is undergoing investigation for tax evasion," "The student government must reflect on how they proceeded the festival without checking."

In response to the complaints, the student government officially apologized for lacking caution and emphasized they did not intend to support the controversial agency. However, the apology did not state iKON's attendance has been canceled. As of now, the boy group will be performing on May 15 as scheduled.

The reputation of YG is likely more tainted by the scandal alot more then I expected. I did not expect the students to make such a protest....

I guess, the new generation is sick of how corruption is still so active in SK. This generation will not suffer in silence. they will express their displease towards YG in the ways they can.

Unfortunately iKON may becomes the victim in this war of protest.....

I think the reason these people are against YG artists is due to the fact that whatever money these artists make technically does go into YG's bank?

I don't see any other reason why they wouldn't support a group from YG who has nothing to do with the ongoing scandals.
