On may 11th, Red velvet had performed at the 2019 Iseul Live festival.

In a fantaken video, Red velvet's JOY can be seen running off to the side of the stage while covering her ears, where she then gets comforted by a staff. She can later be heard whining several times through the mic. 

Fans began to worry wether it was due to fireworks because Joy has been known for getting startled easily, or if she has developed a trauma after having issues with her in ear pieces back in 2016 and collapsed from it. 

Later on the same day, she took to the group's instagram account with a personal note: 

"Luvies, I’m posting because I want to say I’m sorry. I’m scared of fireworks after seeing a firework explode right in front of me in the past and it was unexpected. On top of that, I heard ringing in my ears and I went in without saying my final goodbye to you.. I’m sorry.. I’m okay now! I’m so sorry for causing you concern.. I want to do a good job at every performance and dislike myself when I can’t react professionally to unexpected moments.. I will strongly prepare myself and work hard so that this won’t happen again in the future! I’m sorry."

Joy is also known to be a perfectionist within the fandom. Hope she doesn't beat herself too much over this incident!
