BTS was mentioned in President Moon Jae In's New Year's speech.
On January 10, President Moon held a new year press conference at The Blue House. At the event, President Moon expressed strong desires to spread Korean entertainment across the globe.
He stated, "People of the world are going wild for BTS, as well as K-pop, K-drama's, and more. This is the power of our culture," and added, "I will create an environment where a second BTS and the third Hallyu wave can be possible, and where creators are respected."
President Moon continued, "With pride in our culture, I will make it possible for all citizens to enjoy the success (of K-entertainment)."
