Club Burning Sun apologizes for the assault controversy + claims the woman stole drinks

Club Burning Sun released official statements on the assault allegations

On January 29, Burning Sun shared an official response to the ongoing controversy via Instagram. The head director Lee Sung Hyun and Lee Mon Ho of Burning Sun apologized on behalf of their employees and announced to properly engage in the police investigation.

Burning Sun also shared details on the night of the incident. According to the club, a Thai woman was asked to leave after she was found stealing drinks at the VIP table. During this process, the woman hit the security guard's head. An employee with English skills attempted to explain the situation to the woman, but she reacted with anger and physically assaulted the employees. The police arrived at the scene and she was arrested. The case drew to a close with her paying a fine.

how convenient that they have a ready explanation that throws blame on the victim. Also, how convenient that Seungri just happen to resign just before this whole incident came to light. I'd understand if he had quit months ago. But this literally happened last week. Bull. Shit.

Why would he resign last week if everything was alright and it was all the lady's fault? And Mr Kim told she was dragged to a VIP room.. they say they threw her out.. CCTV should show what happened.. and if it has been deleted do a full blown investigation

He obviously resigned for a reason. He’s lost all respect from me. And with that woman being from thailand? Well she never really did stand a chance against south koreas fucked up misogynistic, racist discriminatory system. I never expected any justice when I first heard about it... just another cover up and guess what.. it will never change.

I`m confused though why did the woman apologize pay a fine and replace the laptop why would she do that ...plus this has come from this Mr Kim not her and the two incidents(hers and his) didnt happen on the same day..

I'm not accusing Seungri of anything, but honestly, this whole ordeal is pretty sketchy and I'm not exactly sure how I feel about it. Usually, if someone is getting kicked out of a bar, a trained staff or security guard is allowed to forcibly remove the person from the premises, especially if that person is becoming too aggressive. However, that person may not use excessive force and to me (based on the original video), it looks like they used an unnecessary amount of force. Also, their apology doesn't explain why they beat up Mr. Kim, who was attacked for trying to help the female. I hope a fair and honest investigation is conducted so that we can find out the truth of this matter.

Meanwhile, 'KBS News' reported that Big Bang's Seungri resigned as the head of Burning Sun last week.

What??? Seungri is the owner so him resigning as head doesn't absolve him of responsibility. Also, he just reportedly resigned just as this whole thing was coming to light???

And also, so they dragged her around like that because she stole drinks??? And why wasn't the whole matter investigated in the first place?? This whole thing is just fishy. IDK. I smell a cover up right now. They need to investigate this matter correctly especially with all the CCTV footage that tells a different story.

thank you! another person who understand when you own a club....you take responsibility of the safety of the patrons at your club.

Got tired of arguing with high schoolers about what it means to own a business

if he resigned during all this was coming to light, that says alot about him. He should have grown some balls and took this head on instead of running like a coward and not saying or dong a single thing about what was going on

Oh Seungri, what is you doing, you dumbass. Last week? That's ain't gonna fly with anyone, it only shows that the case is really serious if he is jumping ship, and that he knew about it.

If the woman is Thai, then they know the police is going to side with them. The foreigners rarely ever stand a chance in Korea (well, hopefully, now that everyone is talking about it, they are going to take it more seriously, but probably not).

I read a report that the police involved were either suspended, fired or arrested. Unsure of of precise report since I use a free translation app. I would post the link but Allkpop would never publish this comment.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED: The club threw Kim out of BS because he harassed women in the club. This exact man had already two precedents of sexual misconduct! And what did Kim do after that? He said he protected a woman of drugs & rape with the 'proof' being a video of a drunk woman, from a different day, that HIT staff inebriated & was dragged out.

RECEIPTS to prove Seungri is innocent:

The TRUTH about the CCTV footage (translation of a Letter From The Security):

"The woman provoked and attacked other guests, and broke the laptop when we were trying to stop her. When she was brought out, before the police came, I was beside her. She hit me and another staff by the face with her fist, we didn’t do anything. She was rude to the police as well. She was brought to the police station due to vandalism, violence and interference of public duties. The next day, she paid compensations and wrote a letter and bought a new computer."

Was Seungri there? NO HE WASN'T. Burning Sun has already clarified that he was not there and was not involved in any of the incidents. Seungri went to Hyoyeon's show, which was on the 23rd of November not the 24th

Is Seungri the CEO? NO! According to an ex-BS official, Seungri was NEVER the CEO! He is an INVESTOR and only a publicity representative of the club, so he has no says in how the club is managed. The most recent update of the company analysis report is from 2018/05 and proves there were at the time only two CEOs, the current ones: Lee Moonho and Lee Seonghyun (not Lee Seunghyun, which is Seungri's real name. There is a difference!!)

Are the incidents RELATED? NO! According to the security, Kim was hit on 24/11 and the women was dragged out of the club on 1/12!

maybe Seungri resigned after finding out what was going on at the club and thought he didn't want to have anything to do with a business that treats people like that?? I don't know, tho, just throwing it out there. But he should give an explanation still

I don't even know why this made it onto the news. People fight at clubs ALL THE TIME. Every time I go out, there's SOME kind of unruly behaviour going on, and the security guards or police always take care of those incidents quickly. None of that made it into the news here... >.> I'm not sure why this is such a big deal considering that a) Seungri was not a victim b) Seungri was not the assaulter c) Seungri was not a witness. So tell me why anyone who works there, whether it be CEO or bartender or cleaner, need to resign?????

wow

i dont know what to think. and if it really went down like then why did seungri resign?

and its bad that she's thai because now all the thai people will get dragged into it. thai news outlets will react, reporters will play victim and say this is just korean racism again

then they'll ask bambam what he thinks lol
