Fans noticed no mention of NCT or SM Entertainment anywhere in this first image teaser and they're under a label called "Label V." This is a joint venture between SM and Chinese label "Label V." Fans believe SM is taking this path to give the group a better chance to succeed in China. What are your thoughts on this?

Their original name was changed from NCT Vision to 威神V, probably focus group surveys showed people in China couldn't remember NCT Vision or something along those lines.
Not sure why their English name was changed toWayV though, maybe they couldn't trademark Vision on its own and didn't want to go with NCT Vision. meh

For those wondering: 威神 = Wei Shen = Vision
Their original name was changed from NCT Vision to 威神V, probably focus group surveys showed people in China couldn't remember NCT Vision or something along those lines.
Not sure why their English name was changed to WayV though, maybe they couldn't trademark Vision on its own and didn't want to go with NCT Vision. meh
