The East Light's Lee Suk Chul offers his view on why the other members are staying silent

The East Light
The East Light's Lee Suk Chul spoke up on the other members' silence.

After Lee Suk Chul spoke up about the violence to The East Light members, netizens had wondered about how the other members of the band were staying quiet and had even unfollowed the two brothers.

During an interview with 'Kim Hyun Jung's News Show', he said, "I know all the members know what I talked about. This is my personal opinion, but I think they are just staying silent and unable to talk because of their dreams. Even if I have to give up music and do something else, there will be others in K-pop. I want to make sure something like what happened to us don't happen to them, so I'm trying to be brave and holding press conferenes."

. I hope what he revealed will make someone investigate all companies and hopefully this will open the door for others not to be afraid to come forward, and will push for tougher policies and punishment for companies who abuse their artist. Its also good to have the public support as well.

I'm really proud of him. I hope this continues to be investigated properly especially considering the rest of the band are still under the company and are not speaking out; I don't find it odd at all that they're staying quiet, because even adults who face abuse often find it hard to speak out or to leave their abusers. I'm sure that much is compounded in this situation by the fact that they are still children but also, as was mentioned, this could mean the end of a dream that they've already worked so hard for.

Hopefully their dream can continue but hopefully everyone who has participated in the abuse of faces the consequences that they should.

I agree with him to some extent. They could also be in fear of retaliating against the CEO. Nevertheless, I hope they realize in the future that sometimes not saying anything isn't the best thing to do. Even if they're scared of how they are gonna be looked at, they can always over come it and be stronger because of it. They're young and Suk Chul is very clear headed in his decision to speak out. I applaud this kid, he's doing something no one has ever done in the industry. When they do, it always gets resolved internally and quietly but with no real solution. So good on him for doing what the members are scared to say. He's doing it for them and for himself and his brother.

Unfollowed them? Like on social media? Well, under contract they are pretty much controlled by the company to do that perhaps.

It takes a lot of courage to speak up. And even then, it takes a lot more to handle comments and mistrust of those around you.Kudos to him for speaking up. He is young. With time he will understand that those who stay silent have their own reasons. We don't have to agree with it but it is their own life and we have to respect it. After all, the only right we have is to decide on the course of our own actions. Once you take a stand, nobody can bully you anymore and expect you to take it without saying a word.

I hope the other members speak up because I don't want media to doubt him and other boys continuing on living in abuseful circumstances.

The full scope of the abuse needs to be told so the PUBLIC can rise up and DEMAND JUSTICE.

From CDAN:

"It is interesting that the members of [The East Light] were willing to talk about being beaten, but none were willing to talk about two of the members that were violently raped by male record label bosses. The rapes were so horrific that the members had to be hospitalized for almost a month."

I'm sorry but a lot of what these kpop idols go through, much more this abuse, is not needed to be a pop singer and celebrity. I'm happy he is speaking up.

i believe these brothers decided to fight back because they both have something to fight for; namely, each other..sometimes when you are young and abused you try to take all the hardships for your dreams but when there's some you love hurt by it, and not just yourself, then you have something more to fight for more than your dreams
