South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism (MCST) claims that based on their first investigation, Momoland is innocent from the sajaegi accusations for their 3rd mini album 'Great!'. However, Hanteo Chart is refusing to accept the results.
According to CBS No Cut News on May 9, MCST officially announced the results of the first investigation back on May 2.
In their official letter, MCST stated, "The sales and export of Momoland's album are deemed to be a business affiliated transaction between distribution company 'A' and a local promotion company in Japan", and stated, "It's difficult to say the goal of these transactions were to purposely increase sales. Therefore, there are no issues."
To this, Hanteo Chart responded, "We cannot accept the investigation results."
MCST will allow Hanteo Chart to submit an official refutation by May 11. As a result, Hanteo Chart is demanding that MCST provide details on the purchaser of the albums, at what cost the albums were sold, and how the thousands of albums were transferred overseas.
The sajaegi accusations on Momoland's 'Great!' arose in February after the album recorded 8,200 copies in sales in a single day. The girl group's agency Duble Kick Company strongly denied the accusations. To settle the issue, Hanteo Chart requested an investigation to MCST.
