Writer Noh Hee Kyung of the new weekend drama 'Live', which tells the story of police officers and their everyday lives, spoke about her inspiration at the drama's press conference.

She stressed that this drama will be different from the usual, hero-based dramas most often seen in the K-drama industry. She then added, "I first began thinking of writing a story for the police officers because of a candlelit protest. I saw the eyes of the police officers who were there, and it seemed as if they were conflicted, because they couldn't stop the protesters and it seemed like they wanted to participate. Whenever I went [to the candlelit protest], they would stand out in my eyes. I became curious of those who eat cold meals behind their cars, who can't meet the eyes of the protesters, and wear panic and unrest in their gazes. I said, 'Why are they here? Did they come here of their own will?"

Noh continued, "They are simply people whose jobs are being police officers like I am a person whose job is just writing... You may be expecting a story about a hero or someone taking sweet revenge, and you may be disappointed. I want to tell stories about people, people who stand in the front lines, and I want to deal with this topic seriously."

tvN's 'Live', starring Lee Kwang Soo, Jung Yoo Mi, and more, premieres on March 10 at 9PM KST.
