EXO-L petition Korean government to shut down 'MAMA'

It seemsEXO-Lare serious about their intention to bring down 'MAMA'.

Korean and global fans of EXO are currently petitioning the Korean government to abolish the 'Mnet Asian Music Awards'. Aside from fans'claims of assault by event security at the '2017 MAMA' in Hong Kong, EXO-L are also upset that EXO did not receive more awards despite the fact that fans had voted them to #1 in online polls for the award ceremony. Furthermore, some EXO-L are stating it was disrespectful for Wanna One to perform after EXO.

Though EXO were awarded the 'Best Album of the Year Award' for 'The War', it seems EXO-L think they also deserved the 'Artist of the Year Award' and 'Best Male Group' award taken by BTSand Wanna One, respectively. The government petition started by an EXO fan states, "Abolish Mnet's 'MAMA' for unfairness when it comes to votes and judging." They're stating their intention to boycott companies that sponsored 'MAMA' as well.

As you can see in the image below, both Korean fans and overseas fans are participating in the online petition, which will be considered by the South Korean president if it reaches 200,000 signatures in one month. The participation of overseas fans is also causing issues as the petition gateway is meant for Korean citizens. The petition has currently accrued over 19,000 signatures, and the visits are bringing down the website server.
