She also added in the comments, "As a dog owner, when I see others walk around without a leash, I also think it's not right. But dogs can bite when people pet the dog without even asking, and when that happens, everyone blames the dog owner and the dog. I hope people can think differently."
After being flooded with criticism, she deleted the photo and instead re-uploaded it without a caption. In the morning, she posted an apology and wrote, "When I woke up this morning, I thought my post was so rude and I deleted it.. and it really was foolish of me. I apologize for concerning many people with my thoughtless actions as well as my spur-of-the-moment thoughts, and I want to apologize even more. I will think more on my actions and act more carefully. I once again apologize to everyone who I have disappointed.."
