EXID as 4 is good but EXID as 5 is th best

eager_beaver Sunday, April 2, 2017

"Night Rather Than Day?" It immediately reminded me of "A Night and Day" by Pepe Deluxe. In fact I misread the title as "A Night and Day":

Winston Sunday, April 2, 2017

I remembered how Hani appeared in Ask Me Anything with Rain back in Jan 5 2017, saying EXID is going to have a comeback soon, that was before the mishap befell on Solji and she was unable to record for the song, and the comeback was pushed back so late. I guess they going to have their comeback finally but sadly missing the main vocal, i think this comeback is very important to them, because it may "fail" because of the lack of main vocal and the concept is very different from their usual according to them, so it really depends if their fans still support their new song minus the main vocal, and their new concept, if it takes off, then i think EXID's future is pretty stable, that whatever happens their fans will back them up, if not, it gives a sign to the agency that they should never RUSH the comeback in future unless ALL members are okay and ready for it.

krell Winston Sunday, April 2, 2017

NOT to seem 'depressing' somehow ; but it is *possible* that SOLJI *might* choose to leave EXID Group as a member. Due to her health situation. My point being that a K-pop Group does want to stay ACTIVE *if* they can do it. Otherwise, your 'Fans' *might* begin to become the FANS of *other* K-pop Groups. I would argue that EXID Group has enough 'Core Fans' to 'get through' their '4 Members' situation with at least an *acceptable* level of popularity. After that, EXID has some *time* to try to figure out about what SOLJI will be doing it. And *perhaps* even to *consider* IF EXID might need to add a *new* member to *replace* SOLJI. Or if the '4 Member' EXID lineup is best. I am *not* saying at all that I like the notion of 'NO SOLJI' and a replacement member. BUT, what I said it, to me, accurately describes the current EXID Group situation. *Hoping* here that SOLJI will be *back* with EXID Group for their 'comeback' *after* this one.

kyunyan krell Sunday, April 2, 2017

*always* a pleasure to hear your 'opinion'

krell Winston Sunday, April 2, 2017

@kyunyan <-- Thanks ; I am sure that *others* likely see this EXID situation a bit differently than me though ... (Joking) ... BUT, I always 'value' *my* viewpoints! ... ... ... (Mistake on sending to @Winston ... Adding this onto here, because some kind of 'pointer problem' with the AKP software ; cannot do another REPLY here) ... And *adding* a New Member to a Group when one does leave, to me, seems a *good* strategy. KARA4 Group did that with YOUNGJI. And that 'dissipated' a *lot* of the discussion of KARA5 *losing* the two members. The FAN conversation was more about how YOUNGJI was doing as the *new* member of KARA4. And it gave the KARA 'Core3' long term members a chance to talk about YOUNGJI. And NOT about the missing members.

TheTgbx Winston Sunday, April 2, 2017

not hating just my view on this. If your a real EXID fan you should know by now that hyelin has more than enough vocal talent to take over solji's parts while solji is away, watch her on king of the masked singer (ep63).

Winston TheTgbx Monday, April 3, 2017

I disagree Solji and Hyelin is 2 different vocals, i am not saying Hyelin is lacking, if you compare their performance videos for Lie, with Hyelin taking Solji's parts on year end performances like Gayo Daejun and such, you will know the difference in "Lie" performed by Solji and Hyelin. they look like 2 different songs totally. I am sure their upcoming comeback should be okay, but i am saying i dun think EXID should have another comeback without Solji, if its just once, maybe okay. i think Solji and LE's rap are like the bread and butter of EXID's songs.

krell Winston Monday, April 3, 2017

@Winston said --> "(EXID) comeback without Solji, if its just once, maybe okay." ... <-- Yes, I tend to agree with what you are saying it here. I am reminded of the difference between KARA5 and KARA4 (YOUNGJI). The difference was *significant* for KARA Group. And this '4 Member' EXID situation will be a SIGNIFICANT difference too. I think that EXID Group will 'bring off' a '4 Member' situation well enough. But to argue a viewpoint that there is NO CHANGE with SOLJI not participating ; NOT 'buying it' here.

Winston TheTgbx Monday, April 3, 2017

Actually it may seem like I am not a "real EXID fan" when i say Hyelin is not as good as Solji, but maybe its BECAUSE i like EXID as 5 members and that each member play an role that CANNOT be taken over by another one, that is why i am disappointed by their agency for going ahead with the comeback while not waiting for Solji to recover, From a FAN point of view, I would have waited for 1 ENTIRE year without EXID comeback, just for Solji to be able to record with the other 4 girls, but from a BUSINESS point of view, this Waiting may not be a good move for the agency, as we all know the agency ONLY has EXID as their MAIN INCOME source unlike other agencies like JYP, YG or SM, who can depend on other groups to make a living, by waiting for Solji's to recover the album is probably invested a lot of money in MV and such already and also the SONG's rights and the staff all need their PAYDAY, and they cant be sitting on ZERO income for months and months waiting, so from a BUSINESS POV, I can accept that the agency has to make the call to go ahead without the main vocal, but from a fan POV, i miss her vocals, and no i dun think i can accept that Hyelin can take over the role, its like I am telling myself that i can accept a A- instead of a A+ grade, because I will KEEP thinking of how that SONG will sound if only Solji SANG it, and i just feel that if only EXID can release a recording with the FIVE, of them in future, when she recovers so i can see how the full song will sound if she had recorded it.

krell Winston Monday, April 3, 2017

But also, EXID Group is 'moving ahead' under adverse conditions (SOLJI illness). And CONNECTING with their EXID FANS 'no matter what' barriers that they encounter them. And EXID Group *stays* ACTIVE ; and they got *some* MONEY out of it. And after this 'comeback' ; then EXID's *Agency* can try to figure out about *IF* SOLJI will be returning to EXID Group or not. And if NOT, what to do about that. I *like* the Agency decision to 'move ahead' with EXID as a '4 Member' Group in this situation.

Winston krell Monday, April 3, 2017

Business wise, the group had to stay alive, even if 1 member had to leave, (PS, just as, no matter how i regret SM had to cut Jessica out from SNSD following her decision to do fashion, i think SNSD cannot all disband just because of one member who left. as much as it "hurts" not to see the group complete, the group's survival is still the priority here.

TheTgbx Winston Monday, April 3, 2017

I understand where you're coming from, it won't be the same without Solji but hey ho nothing we can really do but pray she gets well soon. But I wouldn't say hyelin is taking over solji's role it's more like chess if a piece gets taken you carry on playing with what you have. I believe the agency made this decision to carry on the comeback as 4 because the illness solji has can take years to cure, even with proper treatment, Solji is already 28 years old, by the time she comes back she could be over 30, which is normally when idols start to break from groups and become solo artist, the agency could be thinking about this too something like " we had a comeback as 4 before, we can do it again" kind of mentality. Obviously I hope Solji gets better as soon as possible and stays with the group for many more years to come, unfortunately all we can do is wait and see.

Winston TheTgbx Monday, April 3, 2017

Well Sojin of Girls Day is a 1986-er and she is 31, (32 in Korean age) this year and she is still active as a girl group member. i think Solji's 28 year old is the same as as the other 6 members of SNSD, all 1989-er so i dun think her age is the issue here. besides i think her condition should not take 2 years to heal, rather i think 6 months to 1 year should be okay, but i dun think EXID can wait so long. i only hope their NEXT comeback either later this year or in 2018, she will rejoin the group. cos it will be sad if she dun re-contract with the agency. (i think EXID contract seems to be due this year)

krell Winston Monday, April 3, 2017

I tend to agree with @TheTgbx that, at Age 28, SOLJI is 'old enough' to be somewhat 'weary' of doing the K-pop Idol Bop routine. However, EXID Group had a somewhat 'Late in Life' success situation. This would be as opposed to say SNSD or KARA Groups, where the members were Age 17 when the Groups got popular. So, SOLJI (and other EXID members) probably do NOT have that much MONEY IN THE BANK at this point in time. KARA4 broke up with KOO HARA being about AGE 25. The KARA 'Core3' members likely ALL had decent MONEY in the BANK, from fairly LONG successful activity. Whereas, EXID Group members are NOT in that situation. Which *tends* to make me think that SOLJI will *try* to RETURN to EXID Group IF she can do it ; for the MONEY. IF SOLJI had INCOME going back 7 YEARS, *then* you might have more consideration for SOLJI to quit EXID Group. But EXID Group is SOLJI's *big chance* to build up a NICE Bank Account Balance. So, SOLJI will *try* to return to EXID Group, as I see it. IF SOLJI was instead an SNSD member ; *then* you wonder IF SOLJI might be thinking "I am WEALTHY ENOUGH ... Time to consider MARRIAGE and children."

TheTgbx Winston Monday, April 3, 2017

when I first heard of Solji's hyperthyroidism I researched about it because I was curious what it was, and I read some cases that it can sometimes take a long time to cure (it's different with every person) however I hope solji's does get better within 6-12 months <3 in time for their next comeback.

hyelinnie Winston Wednesday, April 5, 2017

They didn't rush. They had to go ahead and put this comeback because it's already almost been a year. They really couldn't wait nay longer. They're not SNSD where they can leave for a year and bounce back with the same, if not more popularity. It was for the good of the company and I am honestly happy that they are making this decision. we should still support them nonetheless.
