Actress Moon Chae Won is taking legal action against a netizen alleging to be her boyfriend and making other false claims about their non-existent relationship online.

A netizen going by the nickname Typhoon has been continuously claiming he's Moon Chae Won's boyfriend, saying, "I've been dating Moon Chae Won since March of 2015. If I'm lying, I'll break my fingers off with a military-grade shovel." Since 2015, Typhoon, who claims to be an architect born in 1972, has been writing a blog about his connection to the star and his claimed romantic relationship with her.�

Because Typhoon has refused to stop the libel, Namoo Actors�stated its intention to take legal action on behalf of the actress on April 5. The agency stated, "He's crossed the line, and we plan on taking legal action against the netizens who are spreading false claims." In response, a netizen claiming to be Typhoon posted,�"Watch how Moon Chae Won's agency takes legal action against me. I'll respond in the same way."

Typhoon has made other controversial claims, such as, "The Sewol ferry was sunk by a Korean navy submarine," and labeled himself the "19th President Kingmaker."�Other netizens have commented, "Wake up, you unmarried 44-year-old. Go to a mental hospital", "Ripley syndrome is scary", "I hope Moon Chae Won never gives in",�and more.
