China's 'Yin Yue Tai V-Chart Award' is taking place in Macau this year.

According to an insider associated with the Chinese award ceremony, the political issue between China and South Korea regarding THAAD has shifted the location.

The insider stated, "In order to invite K-Pop stars, the ceremony will take place in Macau instead of Beijing where the ceremony took place last year."

I'm so upset with China, they are just too much, banning all Lotte stores, all Korean artists, not more Korean drama download, not allowing their Chinese artists to perform with their groups, and better not say you like Korea, or you are not patriotic, how long are Chinese people going to live under such a dictatorship?

potato888 allkpopellie Friday, March 24, 2017

??? China is not a dictatorship but a one-party system. The large majority of the Chinese (80%+) agrees with China's current policy against Korea because the Chinese believe the THAAD radar (which has a 2000km range) reaches into China and monitors Chinese airspace, and therefore threatens China's national security.

I just felt like it was a dictatorship because of the brainwash and the censorship, this is what most dictatorship does, but I googled the definition, and now I remember. Still, a government that kills a protest the way they did with Tienanmen, idk. Chinese are agreeing to the policy because of the way their mass media presented the THAAD. Anyway, we shall see what the new SK president is going to do.

Unless you've actually lived in China or have at least visited, you shouldn't judge solely based on how China is portrayed by your own country's media. While China does have some media censorship, rest assured that most of the people are not brainwashed. If you go on Chinese message boards, you'll see plenty of people openly criticizing the government and its policies. I agree that the Chinese media is likely biased on how they present THAAD. But the same bias exists with how the Korean and US media present THAAD (since THAAD is a US system). I'm not a weapons expert and I assume you aren't either, so neither of us can judge whose version of the radar's capability in correct.

That's true, I did not, but my sis visited and lived there for a whole year, and has Chinese friends there. She works in the import export business, and her boss is also a Taiwanese immigrant. The way she talked about China is even worst, but she is really humorous when she does it ;). Her friends are very unhappy and were sharing how frustrated they were, but they can't say anything because if they do, they aren't patriotic. I agree though we are culturally biased and not weapon experts anyway. Let's see what happens next.

isn't Macau still part of china , I don't understand ? does the Chinese government not have authority there ?

krell DZico Thursday, March 23, 2017

MACAU (Tourist ; Gambling) is like HONG KONG (Financial) is to PRChina. PRC Government does *control* them. BUT, the official laws and rules are a bit *different* than are applied to 'normal' PRChina (BEIJING ; etc). Probably the PRC Government *told* them that MACAU was okay ; whereas BEIJING was not ... (Joking) ... So, What HAPPENS in MACAU, *STAYS* in MACAU ... (That sounds 'LAS VEGAS [USA]' familiar?) ...

Sakura_Chan DZico Thursday, March 23, 2017

Macau is an autonomous territory in China.

allkpopellie DZico Friday, March 24, 2017

Is there anyone who can explain why they hold a Yin Yue Tai V-Chart Award and why kpop artists are attending when they are being banned? Their popularity is 0 now and all Korean products were banned, how can they win an award?

krell Sakura_Chan Friday, March 24, 2017

Yes, the manner that you word it, that MACAU is a "autonomous TERRITORY of China" is accurate. BUT, MACAU is only as "autonomous" as much as the PRChina *Central* National Government (BEIJING) *CHOOSES* to have it be autonomous. The *key* word is TERRITORY. It is much the same as PUERTO RICO is a TERRITORY of the USA. Any time that the PRChina Government wanted to declare PRC MILITARY CONTROL of MACAU, and move MILITARY UNITS into it, that would be COMPLETELY LEGAL. No other NATION (say RUSSIA) would be saying that PRChina had ILLEGALLY INVADED MACAU. MACAU *belongs* to PRChina ; they *own* it. In the same manner as the USA does *own* the STATE of CALIFORNIA ; and the TERRITORY of PUERTO RICO.

DZico krell Friday, March 24, 2017

well macau is not seperate country they still china terroroty , it's like saying seol is autonomas and but the korean military still have control over them , well seoul is still part of S.korea .

krell DZico Friday, March 24, 2017

@DZico said --> "Macau is not a separate country (nation), they are still PRChina's territory." ... <-- Yes, agreed.

krell allkpopellie Friday, March 24, 2017

For the YEAR 2016 ; the S.KOREA K-pop Groups (EXO ; etc) did *very* well in PRChina ; in terms of SALES (MONEY earned) and general popularity (CONCERT attendance). So, to have a PRChina MUSIC AWARDS Event with *nobody* present from S.KOREA (K-pop Groups) would be an ODD EVENT (strange ; fraudulent). It would be like an OLYMPIC SPORTS Event with say ZERO RUSSIA ATHLETES participating (which happened in 1980). So, my *guess* is that the PRChina Government *told* the 'Yin Yue Tai V-Chart Awards' Event Committee that it would be OKAY to have the gathering in MACAU (*TERRITORY*) ; BUT NOT in BEIJING (*STATE*) of PRChina. So, this allows the PRChina Government to maintain that the BAN on S.KOREA K-Celebrities in PRChina *STATES* remains actively ENFORCED. There IS an element of 'HYPOCRISY' to it, as I see it ... This reminds me of like where say the USA is LEGALLY STOPPED from selling WEAPONS to another certain nation (say IRAN). So, the USA might sell the WEAPONS to say instead FRANCE. And then FRANCE would sell the SAME WEAPONS to IRAN. And then, the USA will say that the STOPPAGE of WEAPONS SALES to IRAN does REMAIN IN PLACE (so ACTIVE) ...
