With its popularity soaring, tvN's 'Goblin' is receiving much love all over the globe.

An industry representative reported that the drama is currently receiving much love overseas, including China and the United States.  Furthermore, due to its ever increasing popularity, "A lot of start-up sites have been emerging selling 'Goblin' related products like photos, postcards, and mugs", which have become top commodities for many consumers.

The representative claimed, "Even merchandise featuring fake Gong Yoo autographs have been popping up, demonstrating the fans' passion for the drama."

An online community posted a video of a school in China watching 'Goblin' during class.

Meanwhile, tvN's 'Goblin' scored one of the highest viewing rankings and the final episode recorded the second highest ratings in Korean cable television history at 18.6%.

Era_Black Saturday, January 28, 2017

It's a good drama tbh

shinnokina Saturday, January 28, 2017

It actually recorded over 20%, AKP. You are citing the numbers compared to non-cable standard channels, but viewership for CABLE only was 20.5%, whis is higher than Reply 1988.

Sharleen22 Friday, January 27, 2017

"fake Gong Yoo autographs..." LOL

atcaelum Friday, January 27, 2017

This is a good drama but the US isn't crazy for Korean dramas. We have a lot of good films and shows already.

MidnightKpop atcaelum Friday, January 27, 2017

What good shows? Name a few. GOT? That's really the only show worth mentioning and I personally feel it pales compare to Goblin.

joel15 MidnightKpop Saturday, January 28, 2017

You probably don't have netflix... Either way it's stupid to compare Western shows with Korean dramas because they are sooo different.

Chrisgreece MidnightKpop Saturday, January 28, 2017

Got pales compared to Goblin? oh man what am i reading so early in the morning

MidnightKpop Chrisgreece Saturday, January 28, 2017

You are reading a personal opinion. Just like yours. GOT has grander scenes and broader story arcs and that's what you expect from great series that has a much higher budget and going on for 7 plus seasons. It's a fun enjoyable watch but have I ever been deeply and profoundly moved by all the years I've watched? No. Shocked? In awe at times of course. Goblin is only one season where each episode packs so much more in every aspect from character development, music and acting. The cinematography was great as well although not at GOT's scale. The emotional impact, cohesiveness of the story plot and the profound messages seen throughout the sixteen episodes can not be matched. And so I emphatically stand by my statement.

Chrisgreece MidnightKpop Saturday, January 28, 2017

You can like it as much as you want but this is a good but overated drama.

MidnightKpop Chrisgreece Saturday, January 28, 2017

Whatever, not everyone has the same taste.

sadakochan14 Friday, January 27, 2017

this drama was good but no offense but this drama has become too overrated imo.

kimjen89 sadakochan14 Friday, January 27, 2017

All Kim Eun Sook's drama are overrated. but i wouldn't say goblin isn't as overrated as DOTS. Goblin was still good, the writing i thought was better, acting was on point and cinematography was beautiful. overall a good drama but yea, it's getting a lot more hype now that it's over for some reason.

kimjen89 Friday, January 27, 2017

i would say*

joel15 kimjen89 Friday, January 27, 2017

I also agree that her dramas are overrated. They are definitely good tho. I enjoyed Goblin more because while it also focused a bit too much on romance, at least the story wasn't always predictable like DOTS where there were no surprises

kimjen89 joel15 Saturday, January 28, 2017

same. I'm a cinematography freak and thought goblin had such an artistic way of framing. overall i liked goblin better.

kaisoo_trash sadakochan14 Sunday, January 29, 2017

I THINK OVERRATED IS OVERUSED TO DESCRIBE DRAMA THAT ARE POPULAR. THIS DRAMA EARNED ITS POPULARITY.

lovelynnnnnn Friday, January 27, 2017

I'm still not done with the drama but i like it! There's a lot of funny parts that are cheesy but I love it. The overall story is kinda predictable. A typical fantasy romance drama but I still enjoy this drama. Tbh I just kinda followed it cause of Gong Yoo. Lol that man is perfection! But over time i grew to enjoy and adore the drama 😊
