Raemongraein, the production company that was in charge of the recently ended KBS drama 'Beautiful Mind,' stepped forward to address payment issues toward the actors who had starred in the series.

The company stated, "We plan to disburse the payment once we are done negotiating with KBS."

A Raemongraein rep informed OSEN on September 20, "Because the drama aired before we signed a contract with KBS, we disbursed what payment we could to the actors and staff. We have disbursed payments for the first eight episodes, and we have yet to make payments for the remaining six episodes."

The rep added, "The production company paid 70% of the production expense. But we have not received a single Won (₩) from KBS. We are currently negotiating with KBS regarding the contract. Once the contract is drawn up, then we will definitely disburse the remaining payments.

KBS also provided a statement to dongA on the ongoing matter, saying, "We are nearing the final stages of our negotiation with the production company. The non-payment issue will be resolved soon."

I can't believe such a great drama didn't do well in SK just because there's no super popular and handsome actor in it -.- still disapointed

Hey just pay them already!!!!

HadamsLunchBox Tuesday, September 20, 2016

This was one of my fave dramas this year. Fantastic writing and superb acting. Park So Dam was a revelation and Jang Hyuk was amazing as always. Pay them already!

Beautiful mind was such an amazing drama and I was so disappointed when it was cut short. I'm assuming this is one of the reasons, but they really need to get paid regardless of the issue.

Hmm I wonder if this is the real reason why the drama had been cut into 14 episodes instead of 16, it was said that t'was due to low rating  but there were lots of dramas that got lower rating than this show and it reached to 16 episodes, hmm.   This is a good medical drama, superbly acted and the storyline is amazing. If you want to be entertained and been wanting to watch a medical drama , this is it.  JangHyuk in the lead is just an icing on the cake...:)

Jang hyuk needs to always be paid ON TIME. That man works hard in every role he gets.

This was a good drama thanks to him and they crapped on these people because of low ratings. They shortened the series by two episodes. Now they haven't paid them. KBS is too big a network to be pulling this kind of crap. Productions should demand money up front or at least have a damned contract.

You shouldn't be able to withhold the payments of the actors and staff because of your issue with KBS.

shinnokina SahanaE Tuesday, September 20, 2016

it means they have no money. because the production company was not paid. When dramas are made, the production company has to first pay for production costs, which they later get back from the channel. Many production companies go bankrupt because the channels refuse to pay their share.

they  air a drama without a contract? wtf??? is KBS a maffia company? how can you do anything without a valid contract? sometimes I really wonder how Korean companies like samsung got so big with the ways they work and their work ethics. Korean working methods are ridiculous, it's a mess.
