HaHa talked about the 'Running Man' members on the September 26 broadcast of MBC FM4U's 'Ji Suk Jin's 2 O'Clock Date.'  He played a game of 'There is, there isn't.'

On this day, he and MC Ji Suk Jin, also a part of the popular variety program, were asked, "Is there an awkward member of 'Running Man'?"  While Ji Suk Jin answered, "There isn't," HaHa said, "There is."  Poor Ji Suk Jin asked, "Is it me?" but HaHa replied, "No. There's someone who I think has become [awkward]."

Rather than explaining more in detail, he said, "I will only say up to this point.  I will reveal more later," raising curiosity.  Ji Suk Jin asked him, "What do you think of your image as a hopeless romantic?" and HaHa replied, "I have an image as a hopeless romantic?  That's not right at all."

Regarding Ji Suk Jin's image in Hallyu, HaHa said, "I'm sure none of you know this, but overseas, Ji Suk Jin is Brad Pitt. Although Brad Pitt's situation right now is not that great.." causing laughter.

Who might the awkward member be?

Now I think he was talking about Gary. I think he became awkward since he wanted to leave even though the cast and staff tried to convince him to stay on running man!

i think it's either gary or jihyo. i mean without the monday couple thing, the started to have less screen time and basically nothing to do

kramblings Tuesday, September 27, 2016

definitely Kim JongKook. KJK wasn't too happy when Haha suddenly got married and despite them being close, Haha never told JK about Byul. KJK's older but still not married. All along i felt that it's quite obvious JK hangs out more w single people so as not to be asked or reminded about relationships.

hkim98 kramblings Tuesday, September 27, 2016

I honestly think Jong Kook is okay with it now. The running man episode when Byul came as a guest, it seemed as though they were super close. Before she went to the elevator to do her mission with Haha, KJK gave her his support and shook her hand. He genuinely seemed happy for her.

BlockBang kramblings Tuesday, September 27, 2016

Honestly, I automatically went KJK too because of the whole wedding tiff thing. But looking back at recent eps I really thinks it's Gary 🤔 They haven't got that banter from before and they don't even stand/sit next to each other anymore, Gary is hanging round Ji Hyo more than HaHa which never happened even when the Monday couple was still happening... 😶

Frankly speaking, not to offend anyone but i hope the PD can know this. Ever since they changed PD, I felt there's an increase in the burden or Running Man members. They seem to be unable to express themselves freely, act and say what they wanted to say at times. Plus, the theme for Running Man seems to be so costly and extravagant. The entire show become so awkward because of the weird themes that doesnt make sense . However, I still watch RM because of the members. Just make it simple and nice will do. There is not necessary to have such weird themes to attract viewers.

Haha, the king of back-handed compliments!

Julies_Wreath Monday, September 26, 2016

this could be defined in 2 ways... most people think it means that there is a member that has become awkward towards him, but it could also mean that there is a member that has become awkward around the cast.

kamito Julies_Wreath Tuesday, September 27, 2016

I agree with you!

Bella_Li Monday, September 26, 2016

I've been watching Running Man for years now and my love for them will never cease. I've watched every single episode and yes, I do notice the changes. It's quite sad but I still hope that they'll be better in the future.

heykoko Monday, September 26, 2016

Other then the 'crap hands' crew, I'm finding that a lot of the members have lost interesting character. Makes me sad because I've watched this show since it first premiered with Hyori and Hwang Jung Eum as guests (which btw if you have not seen the first few episodes, I would highly recommend checking them out because the missions were pretty hilarious). Does anybody else think that they might have a change up of members? Or add a new member? Because I'm not sure if the PDs, nor the writers who seem to running out of ideas are going to save the show...

heykoko Monday, September 26, 2016

Not to imply that the original members are dead to me, but it seems like all long running successful programs have had a change-up in members every few years like 1N2D and Infinity Challenge

gureumcloud heykoko Monday, September 26, 2016

The member changes for Infinity Challenge weren't to freshen up the show, but because members left due to scandals they were involved in. In fact, many fans actually want old cast members to return (such as Gil and Noh Hong Chul) but they refuse. It's hard for a show to just swap out members, too. It's a risk. It could change things up for the better, or make things way worse. Family Outing is a pretty good example of the latter.

There's a reason why Running Man became less addicting to watch nowadays, even with heavyweight guests. If you haven't noticed, ever since the Monday Couple line stopped, Gary and Song Ji Hyo has been getting less and less screen time. At the same time, Lee Kwang Soo persona fades out quite a little recently.. and his screen time lessens too. It's not their fault or anybody fault. In the beginning stages of Running Man, there is all kind of concept and persona for the 7 members to try out. From Yoo Jae Suk obsession with green and Yoomes Bond/Yooruce Willis jokes, to Kim Jong Kook's being a muscle and being a commander, to Haha's pororo and flirtatious persona, to Lee Kwang Soo's image as a betrayal and his framing jokes, and the monday couple. Ji Suk Jin may just have been Ji Suk Jin for the past 6/7 years, but if anybody remember in the beginning... he was pretty much a big bully to Song Ji Hyo. As the show and members grow older, the freshness goes away and unfortunately, they haven't been able to find their new persona to bring this show up to the top.

lollipopkan fatbom Monday, September 26, 2016

Your comment is basically everything i have to say about recent RM episodes.

juanpcchicken fatbom Monday, September 26, 2016

probably why I stopped watching as well

heykoko fatbom Monday, September 26, 2016

I also think it's the numerous change in PDs... I really don't like the way the recent episodes are conducted. Sometimes "guests" are basically there for 5-10 minutes and then leave.

kusea_j fatbom Monday, September 26, 2016

LKS's persona has faded but the PD has started filling episodes with just him. He overreacts a lot and his humor has stayed consistent: the surprised wide eyes looks, the same tone, the random yelling. On the other side, they're giving everyone else less and less screen-time. I agree that the freshness has disappeared. There's no way for them to figure out a new persona when they have a fixed relationship with each other. They're not even making any drastic changes. An episode might be good now or tomorrow but that's not addressing the inherent problems with the show. Eventually, there's really nothing you can do for a show that has managed to go for 6 years.

MiSoYu fatbom Monday, September 26, 2016

Not to mention miss Mong earned the name Ace was not only for her luckiness but also she being strong+brave. But slowly it just disappeared. She only want to be friendly with the guests. I really miss the Angry Mong. Where she dare to take any challenge, fast and smart. Even the winning chances is pretty small she still fight. And her hot temper <3 Now i feel she let ppl win on purpose -.- And not to mention her little time on screen! Gary is usually better too, but he seems to fanboy over the guests more lately XD And Kookie. I think he is really tired, especially with the hate he got back in the days. He is just so quiet now, even being mad he just get red and wont say anything. He do not really care to use his muscles anymore, even with all that i still dont get how he can still stay alive till the end XD And b4 they were like a team. The episode "Train to Prison" was REALLY disappointing. I am sure they could have made tht episode shine but the way of gaming in the middle and the rules made the ending so... i dont know. Kinda feel wasted? They shouldnt have give them so many chances to escape. Like when HaHa escaped it would be more exciting if he could return trying to help free the members from prison. And Kookie+Gary stayed loyal but unlike b4 they were called "stupid"? I dont care if it was meant as a joke or not but it didnt feel right. RM were popular bc of the members and the games, now it feels more like a funny talk show. The best scenes get edited out, i guess? The show focus so much on having guests on the show that the main concept of the show is gone, i guess. I still watch RM, but mainly bc of the members, but sad to see the show goes downhill when they worked so hard all these years to build up a name for the show. RM are the only show tht have SO many fans international! (i know so many ppl who watch RM without knowing anything abt kpop, korea and k-drama). I hope they will get the fire back and keep the show alive!

oskarkawesome Monday, September 26, 2016

Song Jihyo and Gary have been in a "slump" recently with Running Man, since both kind of lack a funny character right now. I think Haha making Gary a "squid" has been the only way to keep Gary a bit relevant in the episodes, since Gary can't make romantic remarks anymore.
