Heo Chan Mi (Girls' Generation)

This former F-ve Dolls member and 'Produce 101' contestant made headlines by explaining on the survival program that she chose to sing Girls' Generation's "Into the New World" because that could have been her debut track as a former SM trainee.

Honey Lee (2NE1)

This former beauty queen, the gorgeous Miss Korea, debuted eventually in the entertainment world as an actress, but she revealed that she trained under YG Entertainment and could have debuted in 2NE1!  She's got all that class... could you see her being fierce?

Jessi (Girls' Generation)

Jessi surprised everybody by revealing that she could have debuted in Girls' Generation! She is known to be good friends with Tiffany and Jessica from their school days and had passed an audition for SM Entertainment - but she ultimately turned down the chance to train with them due to differences in style and music.

T-ara's Soyeon (Girls' Generation)

Soyeon is well known to have been one of the final trainees competing for a spot in Girls' Generation.  She withdrew in the end, but she might be one of the closest celebrities to have truly gotten into the group - she was so close!  As a matter of fact, she was set to be the leader, but she got to debut in another hit girl group, T-ara.

SPICA's Bohyung (2NE1)

This talented artist revealed that she could have been a part of the fierce quartet, but was ultimately cut by Yang Hyun Suk, who told her that her color was different.  She believed she didn't have enough swag - either way, she proved her vocal prowess through the talented group, SPICA!

Lee Yeon Hee (Girls' Generation)

The pretty SM actress was originally going to be an idol!  She was one of the people in the possible line-up for Girls' Generation before losing her spot to Sooyoung.  Ultimately, she decided to focus on being an actress, although that path proved difficult for her, as well.

Seo Hyun Jin (Girls' Generation)

Many of you know her as an actress now, but she might have been a part of Girls' Generation!  She might even have been the leader.  The pretty Seo Hyun Jin, in the end, debuted ahead of Girls' Generation under another SM girl group, M.I.L.K, which unfortunately did not make it that far.  Still, she is making a name for herself now as an actress!

FIESTAR's Linzy (2NE1)

This FIESTAR member told 'International bnt' that she had been a trainee in YG Entertainment with the 2NE1 members and SPICA's Bohyung before leaving it to join LOEN Entertainment!

Zhang Li Yin (Girls' Generation)

Although she eventually debuted as an SM soloist and is currently very active in China, the pretty Zhang Li Yin with the voice of an angel could have debuted under Girls' Generation instead of as a vocalist who flies solo!

Seo Min Ji (Girls' Generation)

An actress formerly known as Kim Min Ji, Seo Min Ji would have debuted under Girls' Generation!  She said on a show that if she had continued training under SM Entertainment, she might have made it into the group.  She did not only acting but also MC-ing afterwards.

Which ones could you see in their respective potential groups?
  1. 2NE1
  2. Girls' Generation

what about Stella Kim she could've have been one of the main vocals and face together with Yoona in SNSD

In time I grew tired of this 'she could have be part of...' thing. Whether they were close to it or not (many of them claim that they could have be part of an X girl group when most of them were only trainees during the time the group was being formed) it is now irrelevant. Don't try to get some of those groups spotlight to get some recognition, do it on your own. If you deserve it, you wil gain it.

honey lee would have looked like a giant next to 2ne1

Soulbrother Sunday, May 22, 2016

Li Yin would've been too much for SNSD, she's too good

bambamgot7 Saturday, May 21, 2016

wow! bohyung!  but yeah... her vocals would totally outshine the rest of 2ne1 and her style a bit different.  She's also way taller and visually would look awkward standing next to 2ne1. lol

bambamgot7 Saturday, May 21, 2016

what about the most popular Clara Lee? lol

Guys, Zhang Liyin is not very active in China. She RARELY actives in China and has never actived in Korea as a soloist after her Timeless days. Some said LSM thought she is too good to fit the group so they decided to debut her as a solo singer. Chinese think she's doing well in Korea and Korean think she's doing well in China. But the thing is she's just struggling in Korea, being locked in sm deepest dungeon, her 2nd album was pushed back forever and never been released. Thank you allkpop for kindly mentioning her when her company always forgets that they still have artist Zhang Liyin signed with them.
