It was an episode jam-packed with drama and more on the January 22 broadcast of 'Produce 101,' officially beginning the fierce competition among a total of 101 contestants all with the dream of making it big. 

The episode shared the rather unfortunate tale of Dani, who was supposed to debut under T-ara but was instead left as a trainee at MBK Entertainment. Dani confessed, "There were many things that happened. When my debut fell through I even thought, 'Being a singer may not be my path.' I think I cried every time I had a hard time."

KARA's Youngji was also a part of 'Produce 101,' though she was only there to cheer on her fellow DSP trainees Yoon Chae Kyung and Jo Shi Yoon. Chae Kyung and Shi Yoon must have been so happy to see a familiar face in an unfamiliar environment, surrounded by people they didn't know! Youngji was all smiles and cheer as she affectionately greeted them, and she imparted some wise words, saying, "Getting ahead of your opponents is very important."
