The results of the preliminary autopsy�on the late Shin Hae Chul have now come out on November 3, revealing that a pericardial puncture has been discovered.

The National Forensic Service offered an official briefing after the autopsy, stating that they discovered a pericardial puncture and the cause of death to be complicated blood poisoning arising from peritonitis (inflammation of the abdomen's inner wall) and pericarditis (inflammation of sac-line membrane covering the heart). �

The forensics team stated, "We saw a perforated part of about 0.3 cm in the pericardium in the left part of his diaphragm. �It looked to be pericarditis."

In relation to the 1 cm perforation in the small intestine that was recorded in the medical records, it was stated, "We were unable to discover the performation in the small intestine. After the small intestine was already removed surgically, it was sutured. �It seems to be the surgical work of Asan Hospital," which had recorded a 1 cm perforation in the 70-80 cm of the small intestine, stating that the small amounts of food had escaped through that hole to infect the abdomen.

Meanwhile, the National Forensic Service has taken over the tissue slide and clipping of the small intestine from the Seoul Asan Hospital and plans to do an examination. �It was also confirmed that he underwent surgery to lessen the capacity of his stomach. �The forensics rep stated, "About 15 cm of the stomach's outer wall were sutured together. �It looks like surgery to shrink the so-called stomach capacity. �We also discovered something that looks like proof of a gastric band surgery."
