On November 13, JTBC News released an exclusive saying that a five-month-old baby died possibly due to hospital negligence.

The baby's death occurred back in October, when he was taken to a university hospital located in the Nowon district of Seoul. The baby was brought into the emergency ward for having enteritis, or an inflammation of the small intestine. He was reported to have a high fever and to be dehydrated. According to the grieving family's testimony, the baby was not supplied with fluids right away as the nurse was unable to find the baby's artery in which to inject the fluids for over an hour.

A family member explained, "They looked for the artery in [the baby's] arms and ankles; there's a method of putting the needle in the bone, but they didn't try." He added, "Although I asked them to consider trying different methods, I was ignored; if we had moved to another [room] with the [proper] equipment, the danger would have been reduced, yet in a room where there was no such [equipment] [the baby] was left on the bare floor�."

Furthermore, the doctor apparently did not appear to attend to the baby until after an hour. The family member stated that prior to the doctor's arrival, he had to persistently demand and scream for him. The baby passed away two hours later.

In response to the accusations of negligence, the hospital has commented, "The baby was really not in a good state." The hospital has added that they will be awaiting the results of the autopsy. A representative has further commented, "The doctor who works at the emergency ward at night can't just stay tethered to one patient. He's in the process of working swiftly."

Netizens have reacted negatively towards the hospital, with top comments saying, "When these kind of incidents happen and a lot of people are interested, then it will help you (the grieving family). Just look at Mr. Shin Hae Chul. It's a constant issue, so the hospital's doors can close. I wonder how the parents of the baby who died feel? These pieces of trash (the hospital) let a baby die and are walking it off, huh," and, "You're saying that during one hour the nurse couldn't find the artery? Hul� what a daebak (amazing) hospital."
