Poll reveals public opinion regarding Yoo Seung Jun's controversial comeback

A poll was conducted on a major Korean portal site, asking netizens how they felt about 90's idol star Yoo Seung Jun coming back to Korea to perform. The poll began on November 17th and as of November 22nd, over 35% of the 54,262 netizens that voted were in support of his comeback. Although 65% were against him returning to Korea, this response is still significantly different from how the Koreans responded ten years back. Yoo Seung Jun was one of the hottest idol stars in the 90's but was unfortunately banned from Korea in 2002 after he failed to fulfill his mandatory military service. He was shunned and criticized back then and local television programs discontinued airing his performances altogether. Compared to then, netizens have now become a lot more understanding and it looks like there may be a gleam of hope for the singer. This poll is especially noteworthy as SBSPlus 'Comeback Show Top 10' PD Han announced that he would work to bring the singer back if over 33.3% of the nation were in support of his comeback. Of course, he had made this announcement without consulting Yoo Seung Jun himself or his management company, but the fact that the poll garnered these kinds of results without any of the singer's own efforts is highly significant. Yoo Seung Jun is currently singing and acting in China, but he has expressed multiple times via Weibo (a Chinese social networking site) his undying love for Korea. Netizens everywhere are curious to know if Korea's newfound interest in his comeback will be enough to actually make it happen. In related news, Yoo Seung Jun is currently filming a new Chinese drama. Source & Image : enews24 via Nate
