On an episode of Mnet's "Director's Cut," which was broadcasted on the 2nd, Lee Changmin and Im Seulong of 2AM received first-hand experience on composing by singer Yoon Jong Shin. For those who may not be familiar with the show, "Director's Cut" is an artist reality program that features Yoon Jong Shin and Ha Rim who dissect OSTs, documenting how they are made. PD Kim Hyung Joong was impressed, commenting, "2AM may be idol stars, but their skills exceed any contemporary idols to the point that they deserve to be recognized by the entire nation." With Yoon Jong Shin playing the guitar, the 2AM members sang popular singles of their 1st and 2nd album respectively, This Song and A Friend's Confession. They said, "This was the first time we sang along to an acoustic guitar" and further expressed their happiness for the experience. 2AM sang their own rendition of Sung Shi Kyung's From the Distance as well, with a staff member sharing that "Yoon Jong Shin was happy upon hearing 2AM say they liked the song, which he composed himself." Aside from the poignant ballads, the two members of 2AM also performed their dance track What Do I Do in front of Yoo Jong Shin, Ha Rim, present staff members and two pooches -- choreography and all. Raise your speakers and be serenaded by the singing ability of the talented foursome. Even the dogs look so mesmerized by 2AM's singing that I swear they joined the IAM fanclub immediately after the cameras were turned off. Hopefully, 2AM will have their own chance to shine as their vocal talents are far too great to dismiss. Translation credits go to Jiwon from 2OneDay and video credits to 215ready.
