Shops Market Jaebeom Controversy

Posted by lawlietta4 pts Wednesday, October 14, 2009

I have to hand this night to the guys... with SHINee, B2ST and MBLAQ crashing the kpop party, it looks like the girls are taking the backburner for the moment. Tonight we've got news on yet another male idol that you just might have heard of before by the name Jaebeom. Though most fangirls are devastated over Jaebeom's exit from 2PM, it looks like at least some people are getting something positive out of it. Stores have grabbed the marketing opportunity by publicly supporting the 2PM leader's departure. For example, some cellphone stores in Busan & Seoul have large placards in the front window that proclaim, "Our store is against Jaebeom's leave." On one hand, some may be unhappy that people are seemingly taking advantage of Jaebeom's plight to appeal to Hottests; however, others are happy that people are publicly showing their support not only for Jaebeom himself but the larger issues of race & internet hate behind his situation. Netizens for the most part have shown a positive response, expressing comments like, "They make me want to join" & "It's a cute ploy." What do you think, is this a sign of support or are these stores taking it too far? Thanks to hazyfiasco of 2AM/2PM's international fan forum, 2OneDay, for the translation! Source: Money Today
