MC Kim Jae Dong, after a four year long run, has really left KBS2TV Star Golden Bell as he expressed his gratitude before his departure. On the 17th October broadcast, at the end of Star Golden Bell which was recorded on the 12th, Kim Jae Dong said, "I have been with Star Golden Bell for four years now. I truly thank the cast and everyone for being with me during that time." While he teared up he said, "From now on, I will continue loving Star Golden Bell." Netizens have claimed that since the death of President Roh Moo Hyun, Kim Jae Dong hasn't been the same and that that must have contributed to his exit. Kim Jae Dong has been known to be very politically outspoken and KBS has been known to be very heavily influenced by the government, which led to the claim. KBS released an official statement saying, "Every now and then, we have to reorganize, add, and remove programs from our Spring and Fall lineups. This also requires a change in MCs and this is the reason for Kim Jae Dong's departure." Former Star Golden Bell MC, Ji Suk Jin has been drafted in as his replacement.
