Rain on the Discovery Channel

Rain / Bi’s American International Debut is about to begin. Rain will be starring in a Discovery Channel program about the wonderful life of tropical rain forests. Just kidding. He’ll actually take part in a program entitled “Hip Korea,” a documentary on the Discovery Channel about Rain’s personal life and career as well as Korea’s culture. It consists of two 45-minute parts, one entitled “Seoul Vibes” with Rain, and “Seoul Savvy” with actor Lee Byung Hun. It turns out he’s been busily filming the show for about 6 months now. And here I was thinking he wasn’t doing anything useful other than getting himself banned everywhere. A government official said:

“the program is expected to improve Seoul’s image by showing off the city’s unique charms on the Discovery Channel.”
Wait, I didn’t know Seoul had a image that needed to be improved? Rain on the other hand... To give us a little teaser, Rain reveals his more vulnerable side while visiting his mother’s Ossuary. He also goes drinking with Kim Jae Dong (and he didn’t even have to try to appear on international television). According to his management company, “Rain will be representing Korea’s dynamic and thriving pop culture as a symbolic figure in the growth of Korean culture.” The documentary will air in Australia and New Zealand on January 31st, Southeast Asia in February, and Europe in May. So no, it won’t air in America despite Discovery Channel’s involvement. What’s that about? Other than showcasing Bi’s talents and skills, The documentary will also feature Bi’s interviews with “Speed Racer” costar Susan Sarandon, actress Im SooJung, director Park ChanOok, and even his “old nemesis,” Stephen Colbert (watch video below if you don’t know what I’m talking about). By the way, does Rain even speak decent English? Last time I checked, his accent was pretty bad. I hope he improved; if he hasn’t, he’ll get owned by Stephen Colbert. .cc_box a:hover .cc_home{background:url('http://www.comedycentral.com/comedycentral/video/assets/syndicated-logo-over.png') !important;}.cc_links a{color:#b9b9b9;text-decoration:none;}.cc_show a{color:#707070;text-decoration:none;}.cc_title a{color:#868686;text-decoration:none;}.cc_links a:hover{color:#67bee2;text-decoration:underline;}
