Seventeen’s Hoshi took center stage at the Independence Hall on March 1st, showcasing a dazzling Taekwondo dance performance amid the enthusiastic cheers of citizens. This marked the first performance since the establishment of the Army Military Band’s Taekwondo Demonstration Team in January.
Hoshi appeared at the '107th Anniversary 3.1 Independence Day Cultural Event: The Roar of That Day' held at 2 PM in Cheonan, Chungcheongnam-do. Rehearsals began early in the morning, ensuring a flawless and high-energy performance.
For the event, Hoshi fused Taekwondo with choreography in a unique “Taekwondo Dance.” Drawing on his experience as a former Taekwondo athlete, he actively participated in creating the entire choreography. He performed a Taekwondo version of his solo track “Tiger” and Seventeen’s hit “Getting Closer.”
The “Taekwondo Dance” captivated the audience with its originality. Hoshi executed sharp, precise movements, reflecting his leadership as Seventeen’s performance head. He also performed advanced Taekwondo stances that dominated the stage, maintaining a commanding presence throughout. Around 5,000 citizens gathered at the Independence Hall plaza, erupting into cheers with each synchronized move of the demonstration team.
Hoshi expressed his delight at the warm reception, striking his signature tiger pose for cameras and smiling brightly throughout the performance. Over a 20-minute stage, he created a special memory with his fans. “Thank you so much for coming to support our Army Taekwondo Demonstration Team. Today was our first event, and I think there will be many more stages ahead. Tiger hug!” he shared, visibly moved.
Hoshi enlisted in active duty in the Army on September 16, 2025, with his discharge scheduled for March 15, 2027.
