Jennie of BLACKPINK is taking strong legal action against the spread of false information and malicious online posts.
On March 9 KST, Jennie’s agency OA Entertainment released an official statement regarding the protection of the artist. The company stated that malicious slander and unfounded speculation about Jennie have been continuously posted on online communities and social media platforms, leading to ongoing cases of defamation through the spread of false information.
The agency added that there have been instances where posts based on completely false claims have damaged the artist’s reputation. It also noted a growing number of privacy violations, including individuals interfering with Jennie’s personal time or following her travel routes.
OA Entertainment stated that it is closely monitoring social media and online platforms and collecting evidence related to these activities. Based on legal consultation, the agency is preparing to take legal action against acts that infringe upon the artist’s reputation and rights.
The company further emphasized that it will respond firmly to violations involving defamation, portrait rights, intellectual property rights, and invasions of privacy. Depending on the severity of the case, both civil and criminal legal measures will be pursued.
The agency stressed that there will be no leniency or settlements in the process.
