Seventeen has produced its first song to surpass 300 million streams on Spotify.
According to Spotify’s latest data released on the 16th, Seventeen’s “Son Ogong (Super)” has exceeded 300.08 million cumulative streams. This marks the group’s first track to cross the 300 million streaming milestone.
Seventeen now boasts a total of 17 songs with over 100 million streams. In addition to “Super,” tracks such as “Hot,” “Don’t Wanna Cry,” and “Very Nice” have each surpassed 200 million streams.
Songs that have exceeded 100 million streams include “Rock With You,” “Darl+ing,” “Left & Right,” “Clap,” “Pretty U,” “_WORLD,” “Ready to Love,” “God of Music,” “Home,” and “Maestro.”
“Super” draws a parallel between Seventeen’s growth through hardship and setbacks and the legendary figure Son Wukong, or the Monkey King, symbolizing evolution and resilience. Member Woozi and producer Bumzu participated in writing and composing the track.
Upon its release, the song topped major Korean music charts, including Melon and Bugs. It also remained on Billboard’s Global 200 chart for 12 weeks, underscoring its worldwide popularity.
In May, the track surpassed 100 million cumulative streams in Japan alone and received a Platinum certification in the streaming category from the Recording Industry Association of Japan.
