Actor Song Joong-ki and his wife, former British actress Katy Louise Saunders, are expecting their second child, just one year after welcoming their first.
According to News1's report on the 8th, Song Joong-ki’s wife, Katy Louise Saunders, is currently pregnant with their second child and is focusing on prenatal care while preparing for the birth. The couple has shared this joyful news with their family and close friends.
The couple, who welcomed their first son in June last year, is now looking forward to expanding their family with the new addition. After spending some time in Italy following the birth of their first child, they have been residing in Korea. The location of the second child’s birth is garnering interest from the public.
Song Joong-ki and Katy Louise Saunders met through an introduction by a mutual acquaintance in 2021. Song Joong-ki announced their relationship in December 2022 and subsequently revealed their marriage and pregnancy early the following year.
At the time, Song Joong-ki expressed his admiration for Katy, saying, “She has a kind heart and has lived her life with passion. She is wise and wonderful to the extent that I respect her deeply. Thanks to her, I am becoming a better person.”
To support his pregnant wife, Song Joong-ki traveled to her hometown of Rome for prenatal care, while also continuing his professional commitments, including overseas filming for the movie 'Ro Gi Wan' and attending the Cannes Film Festival for the first time with 'Hopeless'. The international marriage of the top star has attracted significant attention, which Song Joong-ki has embraced with a positive attitude. At Cannes, he told reporters that he is focusing on the birth of his second child and is thankful and positive about life.
Appearing on JTBC's 'Newsroom' last October, around the time his first child turned 100 days old, Song Joong-ki shared that many people have remarked on the resemblance between him and his son. He said, “My wife and I are very strong together in raising our child, supporting each other enthusiastically, and it’s a very fulfilling experience.”
With the news of his second child’s imminent arrival, Song Joong-ki continues to stay active in his acting career. He is set to appear in the upcoming movie 'Bogota' and has a special appearance in the Netflix drama 'Romantic Anonymous'.
