NewJeans' "Hype Boy" becomes the group's first MV to hit 100 million views on YouTube

NewJeans has a new YouTube milestone with their hit debut single!

On May 1, KST, the ADOR girl group's music video for their smash hit "Hype Boy (Performance ver. 1)" racked up over 100 million views on YouTube, becoming the group's first-ever official music video to do so. 

Released on August 18, 2022, as one of the three title tracks from her debut album 'New Jeans,' the music video reached the milestone eight months and one week later.

It could reach a billion views and there would still be people trying to say NewJeans isn't that big a deal and they're not that popular.

This looks legit based on Hype Boy's long lasting popularity. Too bad that some kpop fans will smash the replay to boost views. It used to be that even popular music videos could take years to reach 100 million views. Sad that Inkigayo rewards fandom spamming by scoring YouTube views with 30% (3000 points). The visual performance is a key part of Kpop, but rabid fans have turned this into another way to game the system. I don't think we have many rabid bunnies (yet).
