BTS Jimin's first song, “Lie” is a classic in K-pop.

Released as part of the 'Wings' album in 2016 and its 2017 repackaged album 'YNWA,' the song continues to draw impact and renown.

On the 13th of December, after 2 weeks of voting conducted on the Korean Voting App STARPLAY. BTS Jimin's “Lie” emerged first on “StarPlayList Best Idol Sampling Song.” This was achieved with a whopping 92,065 votes, 79% of all total votes cast.

“Lie” is Jimin's first solo track, a dark, hauntingly beautiful, and introspective masterpiece. It has brought Jimin acclaim and has been described by publications like the Idolator, NME, and others as “nothing short of heaven,” with performances full of “breathtaking choreography,” delivering the “best dance moves” and “powerful vocals.” In September, “Lie” was mentioned by SBS News for its clever sampling of Manuel de Falla's classical Spanish music in the background on a piece about classical music and K-POP. The experts on the segment mentioned that this created a sense of realism and excitement by using a part of the dance espagnole in his Opera “La Vida Breve.”

“Lie” has crossed incredible milestones 6 years since its release. It was the most streamed 2016 Korean solo song and non-title track on Pandora, Spotify, Melón, Anghami, Youtube, Apple Music, and Jio Saavn. It received the most likes along with being the highest charting non-title track from the 'Wings' and 'YNWA' albums on all Korean streaming platforms (Melón, Genie, Soribada, Naver Music, and Bugs). It was BTS' first solo to achieve 5M-70M streams on Spotify and the first BTS solo to enter iTunes worldwide chart top 100. In addition, it was the highest and longest charting non-title track on the 'Wings' album for 4 weeks and also the highest charting solo from the album on Gaon monthly chart, digital chart, cumulative downloads, cumulative streaming, and BGM chart. It was played on over 50 radio stations worldwide and entered the UK official charts' Top 40 most streamed BTS songs from 2018 to 2020, among other milestones.

Currently the song has surpassed 194 Million streams on Spotify as the most streamed of all solos from the album and leads likewise on Melón with 32.9 Million streams and 1.1 Million ULs. Congratulations Jimin!
