Netizens defend TWICE members speaking Japanese during V live broadcast

TWICE
Netizens have gone into a debate after theTWICE members spoke Japanese on Naver V live.

On June 11, the Japanese members of TWICE - Momo, Sana, and Mina- went live on V app. During the live airing, the three members started speaking in Japanese for the vast majority of the broadcast. The girls were full of laughter as they exchanged jokes and more.

However, as the majority of the viewersspeak Korean and English, some fans were upset, claiming they found their use of Japanese rude because it left them clueless on what they are talking and laughing about.According to a fan, one member even teasingly said, "You guys can't understand us, right?" These fans criticized the girls for making non-Japanese speaking viewers feel left out.

However, most fans did not find their use of Japanese problematic at all and defended them. Comments stated, "V live is supposed to be free and open. Who cares if they speak Japanese or Korean. If you don't like it then just don't watch it. Why are you criticizing when you are the one who clicked and came to watch their live stream?", "Korean fans might feel upset but they are Japanese... They usually speak Korean so it's just this once. Let them be.", "Bullcrap, no one ever finds it problematic when there are boy group Chinese members who only speak Chinese among themselves. You're only attacking them because it's TWICE."

What are your thoughts on the issue?
