Rhymer, the CEO of Brand New Music, stated to Sports DongA that the label's first boy group is almost done preparing. However, their debut date is not yet confirmed as some of the members are currently auditioning on 'Produce 101' season 2.

Following the news, netizens criticized Brand New Music and commented, "Brand New Music is already done preparing to debut a group and all the members are ready to go. It sounds like he's asking us to not vote for Lee Dae Hwi since that will push back the group's debut if he promotes with the top 11. Traitor... In response to the criticism, Rhymer explained via Instagram, "Brand New Music's boy group project is currently in process. Nothing is confirmed for sure with me and the staff members regarding the form of their debut. It's true that the trainees are preparing for that team but I want to emphasize once again that nothing is yet confirmed."
