Netizens are criticizing Brand New Music for preparing to debut a new boy group with trainees currently on 'Produce 101' season 2.

Rhymer, the CEO of Brand New Music, stated to Sports DongA that the label's first boy group is almost done preparing. However, their debut date is not yet confirmed as some of the members are currently auditioning on 'Produce 101' season 2.

Following the news, netizens criticized Brand New Music and commented, "Brand New Music is already done preparing to debut a group and all the members are ready to go. It sounds like he's asking us to not vote for Lee Dae Hwi since that will push back the group's debut if he promotes with the top 11. Traitor... I'm not voting for them", "So they're just using 'Produce 101' to increase their popularity before debut lol That's so shady. It means they had it all planned out before they went on 'Produce 101'."

In response to the criticism, Rhymer explained via Instagram, "Brand New Music's boy group project is currently in process. Nothing is confirmed for sure with me and the staff members regarding the form of their debut. It's true that the trainees are preparing for that team but I want to emphasize once again that nothing is yet confirmed."

The whole point of the show is to bring popularity to your company and the original group you were in.....

Forming a group takes quite a few months, so they probably had a pretty good idea of who would be in it since late last year. When P101 was announced they probably thought they would send some of their boys and see what happens. THEN the big 3 decided not to participate and suddenly the smaller companies had a chance. They still cant gurantee their trainees will make the band so preping for their debut seems sensible.

wat is that first comment trying to say? is the person mad cuz the ceo seems like he's asking ppl not to vote for lee dae hwi? in which case, y would not voting for brand new music be a good strategy to combat this

How is that any different than last season when some of the girls were already in groups or part of companies prepping them to debut until they got on the show and it pushed the debuts back? They are not saying they are going to debut while the show is on. They will probably wait to see if their members are cut before deciding on a final debut date. If they get cut then the date will be earlier if they end up making it to the final group then the debut will be pushed back. There is nothing wrong with planning things out. Debuts don't happen overnight they take a ton of prep work.

"so they're just using p101 to increase their popularity before debut lol" um....... duh. literally why else would you go on that show.

mrkpooper Wednesday, April 19, 2017

Produce 101 is a platform to gain popularity whether a trainee or an experienced idol (Read: Nu'est). The argument is pointless.

sorry but there is no need to mention nuest. if u want to mention already debuted idols in the show, then u have to mention ALL. not only nuest. don't be biased.

Ummm half of Pristin were in produce 101, ya'all are telling me that the pledis girlz weren't already planning to debut before produce 101?? Pfffffffttt

I'm so confused lol.  Why else would these trainees go on the program?  Everyone is obviously on the program to gain popularity.  It's just a temp group anyways, it makes sense to have plans for after the project group ends.

atlkpopfan Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Umm.... why else do they think companies let their trainees come on this show? They are ALLLL doing it for exposure.  Do they think hey are doing it just for a short term project group where they have to split the earnings between companies?

Don't debut within the promotion period if you're part of the final 11.
