SM Entertainment entered the top 50 of '2017 Best Korean Brands' once again.

Last year, the annual ranking by the world's biggest brand consulting company Interbrand ranked SM Entertainment in 46th place; also making them the only Korean entertainment agency to make it on the list. The label once again ranked 46th this year and remained the only Korean entertainment agency to make it onto the ranking.

A rep from SM Entertainment shared a comment and said, "With the production system of Culture Technology or CT, SM continues to produce popular global artists. We will work hard to create celebrities and contents that captivate music fans worldwide, and grow even more as a global brand."

Meanwhile, Samsung took #1 overall on '2017 Best Korean Brands' followed by Hyundai, Kia, and Naver

No surprise, Idk how they do it, they just do it.

Not a surprise, as others said they started idol culture and have been number one company for 20 years other companies might be doing well now but don't really have the longevity that SM have.

all of sm artists contributed to sm's success. plus sm have lots of subsidaries, so no wonder.

no agency has as much guaranteed success as SM does debuting groups.  if you're lucky enough to be placed into a new SM group you will become super famous.  no other agency is close to the guaranteed success SM gives.  you'll have to bust your ass but you wont have to worry about the group being successful, like u do with every other agency.  i think thats the biggest difference between SM and everyone else.  YG used to be guaranteed too until Winner/Ikon.

Are all the SM artists that successful? HOT, Boa, SNSD, Super Junior, EXO are monsters, but how about the other groups they seem to be doing just ok even though they are in SM. BB is just so unique, that group can't be duplicated! Poor YG! I think SM success is that they don't create groups that are different. EXO imo is nothing like HOT or SUJU, or Shinee.

lol considering most of those YG groups all use that synthesizing and more than a few BB songs sound just like PSY songs, its funny u pretend SM is all the same music. snsd alone has done more variety of music than anyone in YG has. too bad YG has fallen a lot with Winner/Ikon being awol and everyone knows YG takes like 2 years for comebacks lol. sad. JYP >YG these days.

Sorry typo and wording problem because of the small allkpop box lol, I meant different, "I think SM success is that they create groups that are different." The end of my paragraph adds an example to that sentence.

Well, almost all of SM artists became influential, legendary, and still makes money even after they past their prime so there's no surprise here.

SM started the idol culture in Korea and they have been one of the top leading companies in Kpop since the first generation. Yes, JYP and YG are doing really well, but SM is definitely the most influential company in Kpop history and still going strong.
