Yoo Ah In will be playing the role of Han Se Joo, an author and bestseller whose popularity matches that of an idol. Despite his soaring popularity, he suffers from depression. Im Soo Jung will be playing veterinarian Jeon Seol, while Go Kyung Pyo will be playing Yoo Jin Oh, the real author behind Yoo Ah In's bestsellers. His role is shrouded in mystery.

'Chicago Typewriter' is set to air after currently airing 'With You Tomorrow'. However, netizens seem to have mixed opinions about Yoo Ah In, whose bone tumor has exempt him from mandatory military service

I don't get why netizens have mixed feelings about this. Going to the army and acting are two completely different things. What do people want him to do, lie in bed for 2 years? He clearly doesn't want to be seen as a patient and he's not even exempt from the army. He's made it abundantly clear that he is planning on enlisting. He's been pushing back his schedule for quite some time now in order to enlist but he keeps getting rejected. So he was probably like, let me just do another project instead wasting time waiting around only to be rejected once again.

The comments of trolls apparently carry a lot of weight for this writer. In other words there is no controversy about him taking this role. The MILITARY has told Yoo Ah In he can't enlist. HE is not coming up with excuses not to go in. People with brains and who use them to think know this.

Go Pyung Kyu :-)

1. He is not exempt from his mandatory military service. 2. Yoo Ah In's agency confirmed that he will have another physical exam in march (the exam that the Army does) after that they will confirm his enlist date, cause he already said that he will go to the Army.  3. I'm so happy to see Oppa in another drama, and i'm glad that Im Soo Jung is back in a drama after 13 years.

I'm excited for Im Soo Jung - I really loved her in Time Renegades.

Well Chicago Typewriter is a nickname for a tommy gun so I'm confused lol

The fact is that he was prepared to go and even attempted to go in despite his injury. It is not his fault that his body is not cooperating with him. What can he do, even if he does want to go, the Korean Army doesn't want him.

These so called netizen only have mixed feelings b/c they think he should stay off the scene for several months to a year since he is exempted.A benign tumor is not a malignant tumor, which is cancer. It does not invade nearby tissue or spread to other parts of the body the way cancer can. In most cases, the outlook with benign tumors is very good. But benign tumors can be serious if they press on vital structures such as blood vessels or nerves. He can clearly have that removed but even so the army wants "healthy men" so he would still be exempted I don't see everyone's suspension, I'm happy he took on this role and also sad b/c something tells me in a few weeks I'm going to read that he's dropped this role due to all this netizen backlash. Why should he just stay cooped up a house or off the grid just Because he has a benign tumor? Once its removed things are good no need for ppl to act so cruel.

its like a broken record at this point, people just won't stop trying to drag him down. best wishes yoo ahin! <3

Errm what happen to bone tumour thing 😐 Is he that scared to fake a illness to avoid the army? What an asshole..

Amber_B Knigin Tuesday, February 21, 2017

Your lack of intelligence amazes me

JeAnYoung Knigin Tuesday, February 21, 2017

For a guy who repeated did checkups after checkups just to try to get into the army before passing his prime age, why do you think he would want to evade it? What if in one of the checkups, they said that he was perfectly okay to get into the army and was to set an enlistment date? Then he would have to go in. It's so hypocritical when I see normal Korean men joking around about getting an injury to avoid the army, while these actors are criticized for a disease that's not even under their control...

He has another physical exam in march, and after that the army will confirm his enlist date.
