Entertainer Park Myung Soo recently commented on Japan's handling of the comfort women controversy in offering monetary payment.

On January 17, Park Myung Soo hosted his KBS 'Park Myung Soo's Radio Show' where he listened to his audience's concerns.

He began his show with a saying, "Japan's way of 'gathering money is like trying to dig up the ground using a needle, and spending money is the same as water seeping through the sand.'"

Park Myung Soo agreed with the saying and commented, "Upon discovering such a good expression as this one, they can purposely say something nice to us but they are not."  He scolded, "Japan should say the right thing."

The entertainer referred to the neighboring country's harsh way of dealing with money to overcome the situation, by paying 1 Billion yen ($10.8 million USD) to the victims.

With that, he stated, "The people of the Republic of Korea are cool.  They would understand if you gave a proper apology.  I would like for them to bow their heads and sincerely apologize," asking for a sincere apology from Japan.

bottomline is, no matter what japan do he will always comment bad for that.. if japan give only formal apology, he'll say for sure apology isnt enough and when japan give money he'll say it's rude. any kind of apology won't work if sk don't have a heart to forgive in the first place. a big respected country isn't always country who look pridefully to themselves, but also a country who can take a brave initiative to forgive first and apologize first when they make mistakes.

PacifistDJ_OKO nekoabc Wednesday, January 18, 2017

yeah i kinda agree, SK have rotten heart, they just hating over japan that's it.

PacifistDJ_OKO Wednesday, January 18, 2017

ilovecake99 PacifistDJ_OKO Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Do I need to report you to the National Intelligence Service?

ilovecake99 PacifistDJ_OKO Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Please don't think we're hating. We love Japan. But dragging on the burden of the past is helpful to no one. Please learn history, and please keep Mr. Kim away. If you're truly a Pacifist, I would want a pacifist solution.

PacifistDJ_OKO ilovecake99 Wednesday, January 18, 2017

South korea should apologize to Vietnamese comfort women that their Koreans soldiers took during the Vietnam war

ilovecake99 DZico Wednesday, January 18, 2017

If this is true, they should. I'm Korean and this is embarrassing. I'm sorry on behalf of my country.

PacifistDJ_OKO ilovecake99 Wednesday, January 18, 2017

who the fck are you, you are just 12 yo SK resident and can't represent your whole country. no formal apology from SK gov? SK always act like victim and giving doctine through their show and media. but the truth they are doing the same thing.

mochiquartz DZico Saturday, January 21, 2017

as a Vietnamese, i agree with you, Korea hating on other countries that mistreated them in the past, but they have done terrible stuff too! not to mention, they still discriminated vietnamese women too

ilovecake99 PacifistDJ_OKO Sunday, January 22, 2017

stop trying to troll me. just go get a life and try to be civil sometimes.

ilovecake99 PacifistDJ_OKO Sunday, January 22, 2017

Yeah. But changes come gradually as the people know more and more. That is why Japan does not apologize, because they are taught that comfort women don't exist and that they colonized Korea for the good of everyone. I was never taught that Koreans did horrific things in Vietnam, and as an individual Korean, I feel regret and remorse.

blahblahblahblah ilovecake99 Sunday, January 22, 2017

you should feel ashamed about you koreans making up shit to hate Japan.

This dude comes from a country of hypocrites. Unless SK is ready to look at their dark history and apologize for all the shit they've done, they shouldn't be demanding anything from Japan. Japan was punished for their war crimes, and Myungsoo sounds like he's blaming the citizens, not the government and those that took part in what happen. Monetary compensation goes so far, what they should been asking was for handwritten apologies from the government and the aggressors and therapy for those affected. Unless the Japanese know their dark history and act superior to the countries that they once conquered then there is little you can do. Japan has apologized and compensated the comfort women several times, it's the goverment's fault if they don't receive that aid, not Japan

croco_korok Wednesday, January 18, 2017

People of the Republic of Korea are cool? Seriously? If we remember, even though Tiffany already write an apology letters 2 times, you guys still bashing her. Nickhun already apologies for his drunken driving controversy, and you guys still didn't forgive him. I don't think Korean ever learn about what we call forgiveness

ilovecake99 croco_korok Wednesday, January 18, 2017

K-netz aren't representative of Koreans. They are the outcasts of society who have nothing better to do than bash people and be hateful. Most Koreans give no fucks.

judithleexd Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I don't mean to be disrespectful but a lot of the times i wonder why people must be held responsible for actions they never committed because of their nationality, family, religion etc. ... i remember reading a story of japanese guy who would have been from that time period apologizing to the women who were affected back then. I highly reslect that and highly agree that an apology could be expected if that man had done any wrong doing or had felt that he needed to be held responsible...The sins of the father shouldn't become the sins of the son (is there a saying like that??)

CBA judithleexd Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I totally agree on what you're saying. But on the other side, if the thing that happened was a good thing (donation, military assistance....) the next generation would definitely be proud about that and boast about it, right? I don't think citizens individually should apologize unless they were in some way responsible, but as a country as a whole Japan should apologize to Korea.

ilikeJB CBA Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Its the same thing the other way round then, citizens of Korea individually shouldn't ask for apology unless they were directly involved. Park Myungsoo started out with a Japanese proverb that is something that is clearly had nothing to do with the war and yet he spins it into the whole "Japan has to say the right thing to us". I don't think that is correct either to connect a simple expression Japanese uses as a way to explain hard work and intend it for his own personal political opinion. The people who uses that proverb comes from individuals and to attack with it really means he is basically also attacking individuals from Japan to not apologizing, not Japan as the country,

CBA ilikeJB Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I think many Japanese people are not against the idea of apologizing as a country to Korea. The government is representing its people, therefore it should follow their wishes. This apology idea isn't, his only. He is voicing what majority of Korea wants. PMS as a public figure, has a power to be heard, to influence.

judithleexd CBA Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I agree. The government should be the one to make to apology. I guess i just didn't like the wording. To me it implied that japanese people individually should apologize. But that's just how it came across to me

ilikeJB CBA Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Of course, But the difference is if you watch many videos interviewing the newer generation in Korea now, they never connect it to Japanese People's daily life culture just like Park Myungsoo did. The expression he adapted was from a simple Japanese culture, it had nothing to do with war in the past but he spins it into his own way of asking an apology. That is not right in my opinion. Koreans do say over and over again "We want apologies" but they never incorporated that Japanese culture into the equation like Park Myungsoo did.

Jenzy210 judithleexd Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I completely agree. I think that if they apologized, there will still be bad blood between them. Those who started hating will still hate them. Let's be honest, sad as it is, a lot of people are selfish. If they did stuff they deemed bad, they will never forgive them even if they apologized. Even little stuff like Tiffany, she was never completely forgiven by people, what reason would you give that they would completely forgive Japan. You can give as many apologize you want but they will be people who will be bitter about it. Of course, what happened between Japan and Korea were very bad, but that happened everywhere during the war.No one was spared during the war. If one country apologized, then the other country have to do it too, because let's be honest, none of those people were innocent. What people don't understand is that what happened in the past is not our own doing. If it is, we are all sinner because all countries have their share on shedding blood. No countries are in exception here.

aleeshaskip Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Well with that picture Japanese people aren't going to be taking him seriously at all

sejung_wang aleeshaskip Wednesday, January 18, 2017

i "came" into ur mum's wet cave.

Mystica Wednesday, January 18, 2017

WUT? Koreans are understand if you gave them an apology? Did I read it right? KOREANS are the worst, all celebrities have to apology if they do anything on their own, whether it was their own opinions, or dating, or anything so small or medium or big! When you talk about freedom of speech, Koreans will be the bottom of the list!

k_kid Mystica Wednesday, January 18, 2017

Somehow you've figured out the entire population of Korea by being a Kpop fan.

Mystica k_kid Wednesday, January 18, 2017

I do not know whether you are judging me, or agreeing me. I know that I did not study the history, and politics or sociability. To be honest, I am not interested either. I am just a k-pop fan, who likes their music in a KPOP WEBSITE THAT IS DEDICATED FOR KOREAN MUSIC INDUSTRY. So I tell my opinion in my own perspective, whether I tell through my music interest. OR from my study. It does not make any difference, nor change the fact that they are really salty people who ask for apologize from their idols for every single cross. Moreover, I follow ever single news everyday about k-pop, and I have been following them for more than 9 years already, AND I AM PRETTY SURE THAT I SAW MANY ARTICLES ABOUT STUPID things to apologize, so it is not about music fan only.

k_kid Mystica Wednesday, January 18, 2017

You should realize that netizens do NOT equal the entire population of Korea which many international fans tend to believe just that. There are PLENTY of Koreans who side with celebrities when they make a statement. But people want to only focus on the negative and turn that into a whole.
