Kangnam revealed the reason behind M.I.B's disbandment.

On the January 24 airing of 'Cultwo Show', Kangnam appeared as a guest and was asked how he came to start promoting in Korea. He answered, "My label CEO cast me from Japan and that's how I came." Kangnam then mentioned the recent disbandment of M.I.B, saying, "But things didn't work out well as a singer, so the debt is incredibly huge. That's why we had to disband."

He also shared plans for a solo album, and said, "Currently, I'm focusing on variety shows and I plan to release an album around June-July."

Sad they were a good group loved their music still do . It was not Kangnam's fault it was the ceo's fault , they did not get good promotions at all.

I saw him at Everland last year filming with a comedian. I didn't recognize him at first because I'm not a fan of M.I.B but searched him up after xD

The reason the group disbanded is because the company refused to do what needed to be done with the group. Instead of pushing the whole team (how many hip hop based shows they could've gone on?), they pushed Kangnam (though, his popularity was super random) and then sat there and did NOTHING instead of using his popularity to bolster the group. You left the group to ROT while the rappers could only drop a few singles and mixtapes. And I feel some type of way that Kangnam not ONCE ever tried supporting his team either (I can name a handful of nugu groups who got a popular member that spoke of their team and brought them along on variety).

I agree but Zick and SIMS did try out twice fore Show Me The Money so they did go on a hiphop based show but never passed preliminary round what also makes me mad is that Zick actually did good on season 4 but got eliminated :/

IDK how their company expected them to pay down the debt when they were technically together for six years but hadn't had a release since March 2014. They should have capitalized on Kangnam's popularity as it started climbing in late 2014.

I mean when you weren't very famous to begin with and you take a 2 year hiatus of course you're going to have a giant debt.

I'm not even surprised... It's sad but that's how business work.. Competition is pretty rude in this field and they were not that well promoted tbh... :s

Disappointing still. I really liked that group

I had my suspicions and am not surprised that (the lack of) money was the issue.
