Uhm Tae Woong acquitted of rape; investigation for prostitution continues

Sexual assault charges against Uhm Tae Woong have been dropped, but he is being charged with prostitution, which is illegal in Korea.

Channel A reported on October 8 that Uhm Tae Woong has been acquitted of all sexual assault charges. However, he will be handed over to the prosecution investigators for prostitution charges. According to Channel A, the massage parlor Uhm Tae Woong visited has been practicing prostitution.

Earlier last month, Uhm Tae Woong was interviewed by the police after a woman in her 30's brought charges against the actor. She claimed that Uhm Tae Woong raped her back in January while she was working at the massage parlor.

To the accusations, Uhm Tae Woong's publicists have insisted that there was no rape and no prostitution, and that the actor will cooperate with the investigations.

So just because the massage parlor is practicing prostitution that must mean he also got that service? What if he just got a regular massage? Did he know it was one? Interesting interesting. Cause i know where i am from, even if a massage parlor do those types of services they also do regular services to keep up appearances. Its still investigating so he isnt guilty or innocent. Guess we will see.

This children is what oppa does. This is not unusual for an adult Korean male to visit a prostitute on a regular basis. A recent study of Korean males in their 30's and 40's found that 46% did not even believe that visiting a prostitute is cheating because prostitution is so accepted and widespread. There are statistics on this if you care to look them up. The fantasy men you see in dramas don't exist.

i wonder... if prostitution is considered illegal, couldn't they amend the law to argue that prostitutes are forced to sell their body for sex and therefore any sexual favors in return of money is sexual assault? It would probably make prostitution disappear real quick, or at least decrease it to a point where it becomes somewhat manageable and not so prevalent in Korean society. Although to be honest, I think they should just legalize prostitution and put heavy taxes on it and make sure all those who do it as a profession are protected like any other employee. Prostitution attracts the mafia simply because it is illegal.

in my country prostitution is legal its a lot safer because the government can regulate it. in the brothels they all have security cameras and men have to bathe and then go under a light for inspection to prevent diseases being transmitted

it's legal in my country too, but as far as I know customers don't have to go through all that trouble. The prostitutes do get a lot of free medical attention and they have to go for regular checkups to make sure they're not carrying any contagions. Which country do you live in?

Ms. CHOI was *correct* that KIM HYUN JOONG was/is the Father of their child together. But also, it would *appear* that Ms. CHOI was *lying* about some other aspects in order to get MONEY from KHJ. This Ms. CHOI vs. KHJ situation has *yet* to finally 'play out' in COURT to an ending (in case anyone wonders).

I do NOT know one way or the other. BUT, one must *wonder* WHY that UTW did *not* have the 'Massage Worker' visit HIM as *his* residence. Preferably with his WIFE present. And NOT the 'other way around' (and NO wife present) as he CHOSE to do it. I will GUESS that it will be fairly *difficult* to prove (for PROSECUTORS) that UTW was seeking Prostitution Services at this Massage Parlor. I will be SURPRISED if any charges come of it, in the end. But, even IF innocent, *some* of the 'smell' of this Massage Parlor is going to 'stick' to UTW for awhile.
