Wonder Girls' new album 'Why So Lonely' is facing trouble even before its official release.

According to Star News on June 22, one of the tracks in Wonder Girls' new album titled "Sweet & Easy" was deemed inappropriate for broadcast by KBS. The reason is due to the lyrics that mention a specific brand. Fortunately, their other new songs "Why So Lonely" and "To The Beautiful You" are permitted for broadcast.

Only in Korea is it wrong to mention a brand name or a word that's used as a brand name in songs.

Francias1 Sweet_Milk_Tea Thursday, June 23, 2016

A lot Asian countries do it apparently

DEVILINEDEMONISE Wednesday, June 22, 2016

What's wrong with KBS ? like seriously?

SymcaPark Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Here we go again. What's new? My friend said, for him, KBS stands for "Korean Banning System". :3

chaelicen Wednesday, June 22, 2016

ok but the brand can take legal action against kbs, so obviously they should be careful about this...

RimmieMeli Wednesday, June 22, 2016

KBS back at it again banning songs

Exo_Leia Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Why do they ban songs that include the use of a brand again?

affxtionate Exo_Leia Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Because it is like advertisement for the brand. KBS doesn't want to do free advertising for another company.

chaelicen affxtionate Wednesday, June 22, 2016

not only that, legally the brand can sue kbs for using its name without consent.

Sweet_Milk_Tea chaelicen Thursday, June 23, 2016

but there are times when KBS ban songs that don't mention a brand but a word just happens to be one that a brand uses, e.g. f(x)'s Red Light (banned because of the word caterpillar) and AKMU's Galaxy (banned because of the word galaxy).

Desirsar chaelicen Thursday, June 23, 2016

Rather, the current advertisers on KBS will sue them for displaying the product of a competitor.

No. Nonono. Wonder girls used to be an admirable group that wasnt about sexy, it was a group i was so proud of. "U know wonder girls? Yah theyre from korea, where im from" but now... theyve gone so low. So so low. Its not their fault i guess. In the entertainment industry, sex sells and they r probs just tting to match that. But... but.. i cant help but be disappointed in their "comebacks" dont hate me, but ur plenty allowed to disagree.

Lovelyz_day NalsaYbur Wednesday, June 22, 2016

It was banned because They mentioned a brand name, not because of sexual content. Did you read the article?

RimmieMeli NalsaYbur Wednesday, June 22, 2016

They are still admirable and they do mature and chic sexy not trashy sexy and as someone said above this was not because it was too sexy

NalsaYbur Lovelyz_day Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Lol i wasnt relating to the article...

NalsaYbur RimmieMeli Wednesday, June 22, 2016

Yah i get that but they seem to be trying to hard to be sexy. The comeback they had a while ago had me shocked by how sexual it was

RimmieMeli NalsaYbur Wednesday, June 22, 2016

I didn't find it sexual at all I found it retro chic they are not new to chic retro concepts

BigBlueagain Wednesday, June 22, 2016

allkpopuser448 Wednesday, June 22, 2016
