Really expecting for they Debut, with Kang Mina, Kim Sejeong and Kim Nayoung, and the other members <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Wow, all these ioi members that are working in two groups. It's much.

all these 'early' debuts from ioi's individual agencies make business sense. the problem is that there is no consideration by the agencies to the feelings of the thousands of fans who are already emotionally committed to ioi as a whole group.

ikr another year wont hurt

sototallyrandom Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Unpopular opinion: Of course they're doing this since Mina and Sejeong are hot topics right now, but I think things like these, debuts and comebacks and all, have already been planned by respective companies at the beginning of the year. I don't think it's the case that they rushed debuting or something. So I don't think the issue is debuting a group per se, but whether or not they should've included (for now, at least) the IOI members. They could've done something like what happened with Eun Bin, just announce that she's a member and just promote after the commitments from Produce 101.

This is kind of annoying. They shouldve made a contract saying promote as IOI only for a year and no exceptions

SugarFree Tuesday, June 7, 2016

I had hoped Jellyfish would be smarter than MBK and give their girls more time to prepare for their debut outside of IOI but this makes me think it'll all be incredibly rushed and Sejeong/Mina won't be in the best condition to re-debut. Not to mention they got a lot of hate when rumours first surfaced, seems Jellyfish aren't worried about the inevitable backlash. I just hope it doesn't hurt the girls too much. Sejeong especially has real star quality and needs a good company that won't mismanage her career.

There's an old saying, "strike while the iron is hot". The CJ E&M PD101 contracts always had a loophole for negotiations. Many of the companies jumped at it and negotiated these "dual promotions". The members' companies pay 50% of the lOl costs and get 50% of the profits. For their own efforts, they pay 100% of the costs and get 100% of the profits. The endgame is Profit-Loss - so they make more money this way and they are betting that they need to strike while this iron is hot. Look for Pledis and Fantagio to do likewise.

SugarFree ramjetranch Tuesday, June 7, 2016

I understand why they're doing it, I just think the quality of the new groups could suffer because of it. In Jellyfish's case (and Pledis, Fantagio if they move debut plans forward too) I hope they prove me wrong.

ramjetranch SugarFree Tuesday, June 7, 2016

That could absolutely happen. lOl had so much work shoved at them, they didn't have time to perfect it and ultimately didn't perform as well as the same members had on PD101. "strike while the iron is hot" refers to the traditional hammer forging of metal. If you cool the metal too fast, or hit it too hard, it will crack. Same goes for people.

Jellyfish girls are gonna debut, nice <3

LilBmw Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Kim Nayoung?

denn1sable LilBmw Tuesday, June 7, 2016

i'd be very surprised if she's not part of this girl group. she's probably rated higher than mina at jellyfish.

Bella_Li Tuesday, June 7, 2016

I'm kind of confused. I watched Produce101... and know that IOI was supposed to be only for a year. But why are they debuting or re-joining for new groups already? Can't it wait until IOI's over? ._.

gabstai Bella_Li Tuesday, June 7, 2016

I think this' a marketing strategy. They will debut a girl group while their members (Mina and Se Jung) is on top of charts.

Kim_sejeong Bella_Li Wednesday, June 8, 2016

ikr they should promote together for the whole year. the debut plan can wait

Lynnbia Tuesday, June 7, 2016

Can't wait *-* does it mean they are not part of the upcoming IOI subunit ?

denn1sable Lynnbia Tuesday, June 7, 2016

my guess is somi, chungha, sohye, eunjung will be the sub-unit since there's nothing going at jyp, m&h, redline & starship. the fantagio, jellyfish and pledis girls will debut and chaeyeon is going back to dia.
